I've read up to page 421 (Chapters 1 to 39) this afternoon, which puts me past the halfway mark.
I'm really enjoying Book 3 and am so curious how this trilogy will conclude.

A few random thoughts (view spoiler)[
*I forgot a lot of Book 2's plot: I was a bit frustrated by not remembering what had happened in Book 2. There's mention of Rohn Toro's murder and Anden being "forced to give up Cory," neither of which I remember the details. I do vaguely remember Anden saving Wen's life in pursuit of Zapunyo, but not how they were caught and who hurt them.
*Shae & Pipi: After six years of blowing off her Shadow, I'm glad that she finally realized she loved him and that his wife let him go.
*Niko, Ru, Jaya, Tia: They grow up so fast in this book. I'm not really paying attention to the dates at the start of each chapter, but the children start out young in this book and now the three oldest are college age.
*Anden & Lott: Awww, I was really shipping Anden and his teen crush. How amazing that Lott is now The Horn, while Anden is in a settled relationship with Abukei artist Jihuryn (forgot spelling).
*The bombing: What a relief that Hilo and Papi survived the explosion! How surprising that Shae decides to help Ayt Mada live for the sake of avoid chaos in post-explosion Kekkon where all of the Pillars have died (except Ayt Mada & Hilo).
*Niko: I stopped reading at the point where Niko left home to work for Ganlu Solutions International. I wonder if he will eventually return to lead the No Peak clan. If not Niko, who? (hide spoiler)]

I understand you have read that much. It is a very good book.
(view spoiler)[ Shae & Pipi: I so agree with you. It was about time she decided to take care of her sentimental life.
*Niko, Ru, Jaya, Tia: I like that we see them growing up and what is happening to each of them. That makes the book more a family saga than just a book about battles and war between 2 gangs.
*Anden & Lott: I feel Jihuryn is the right man for Anden.
*The bombing: How surprising that Shae decides to help Ayt Mada live for the sake of avoid chaos in post-explosion Kekkon where all of the Pillars have died.
I thought that was a bright idea from the author and I am wondering where this will lead. Maybe the 2 family will join?

(view spoiler)[I wondered if Hilo's daughter Jaya might marry Ayt Mada's nephew, the flamboyant Ayt Ato, haha.
It would be too sad for Anden if Jaya ended up marrying Lott.

I finished this book last night and give it 5 stars.
I really enjoyed the entire series and the author made me care so much of the fate of each of the main characters.

Just a few thoughts on finishing this book:
(view spoiler)[*Niko: The scene where Niko showed up at the cemetery after Ru's funeral brought tears to my eyes.
*Hilo: I was so shocked that he risked his own life to save Ayt/Koben Ato. He started out in Book 1 as such a brash, impulsive, violent but charismatic Horn and left the stage as a thoughtful, caring character who is respected and missed by all Green Bone warriors. He also gained wisdom through his experiences as both a leader and a father.
*Ayt Mada was an evil snake to the very end.
*Anden Emery chose a fitting path for his talents as a politician.
*Shae and Wen: In the end, it is these two women who survived. (hide spoiler)]

I don't really have anything significant or insightful to add to this book. Thanks so much, Lorraine, for reading the trilogy with me!

I also finished the book and gave it 5 stars. I loved this series and especially the last book, which made me laugh and cry. This family went through so much and stayed strong trough all that happened. There is no way not to care for them.
Thank you for suggesting this trilogy. I have to admit I wasn’t sure at first in what kind of story I was getting myself into but I am glad I persevere. I will miss these characters.
I hope we will have the pleasure to read other books together in the future. Thanks to you for reading this with me.
