I'm just starting the discussion page for our first BOTM. Our thoughts and comments as we are reading, and when we are finished reading, will go here. Happy reading!

PART 1 - A Darker Shade of Magic - Just finished the first part of the book! A great introduction to Kell. Love him so far and the storyline. Love the magic and the worlds. I also love how the author mentions the good and the bad about a magic-filled world as well as a magic-less world. The little things about Grey London and how everything has stayed the same, while in Red London - his home - everything is constantly changing. He likes the consistency and I can relate to that. Also love how happy he got with the music box.

PART 2 - A Darker Shade of Magic - Relationships!! Love Rhy and Kell and their best friend/brotherly love. I haven’t read a book with two guys best friends in a while and it’s nice. Now Holland and Rhy are interesting as well I see something cute happening there but I want to learn more about Holland. ALSO Kell’s past - very intriguing I feel that whatever we find out in this book will probably get into some twists and stuff throughout the rest of the series. Still loving it so far.

PART 3 - A Darker Shade Of Magic - Introduction to Lila. She was not what I was expecting but I mean that in the best way possible. I see her adding a lot of interesting plot points, twists, and character relationships in the future of the novel and I am excited to see that unravel.

PART 4 - A Darker Shade of Magic - And we are introduced to White London. I don't have much to say, the book is good and I am excited to see the secrets of Holland unfold and how the relationship between Lila and Kell will be like.

PART 5 - A Darker Shade of Magic - Action and a lot of it. I see the plot thickening and it is getting incredibly interesting, especially with the black stone and a new, darker magic, introduced.

PART 6 - A Darker Shade of Magic - SO EXCITING! Kell and Lila have met and I love their relationship already. A little bit scared as to what is going to happen because now 2 individuals have been taken over by the black magic. Why did Lila throw the sword out the window. I think that was dumb but whatever. I'm very excited to see how Kell and Lila will come together again and even work together to defeat whatever the black magic is doing to people in their worlds.
