Don't use it as it doesn't do everything I use the site for and the things it does are really frustrating.

The Goodreads app sucks. But to expand on that, it doesn't have great capabilities when it comes to groups. If you're looking up a book or scrolling through your shelves, then it's fine. I'd say the greatest advantage to the app is the fact that it lets you use your phone camera to scan a book's barcode and then pull up the book. I use that in bookstores all the time.
The big downside with the app has to do with discussions. More often than not, the app will crash when I try to open a group. It also doesn't let you edit or directly reply to a post. And of course, there's also no option to insert a picture or anything either.

Ah, yes. These all def ring a bell.
I do not like it at all. Especially when it comes to looking for posts in your groups.Well any kind of searches actually, you can’t search for listmanias or anything specific genre searches.
It won’t let you search for any specific group post.
When I pull up my list the iPhone app does it allow me to see what I have rated books that are in my red list.
So I pretty much only use the app to add books to my reading list that I have completed or adding books that I’ve completed for reading challenge.
Edit to add. And it won’t let me edit my post when I accidentally post some thing that is misspelled or auto corrected to a weird word.
The app is not as good as the website and both are not great. They don't maintenance or upgrade as they really should because they feel like they have the market cornered on book social sites with it, which is why amazon bought it. I like the Bookworm App. It is fun and they are constantly trying to make it better, you can interact with other readers a lot more than the goodreads app/website. I do like the tracking capabilities of goodreads though, which is why I stick with it.
I like the app for reading reviews, but for writing them, well... I've lost 50% of the reviews I've tried to write on it. It doesn't seem to auto save like the website does.
But, it's improved A LOT in the last couple years.
I haven't used it in a while and don't know if this is still an issue... I wished it was possible to add links for books/authors when replying to a post.
It has issues and the UI needs some work. But it does a decent job of helping me keep track of books, so that's a plus. I give it 3.5 stars.

I'm doing a course on UX UI Design and I would like to hear about your experience with the Goodreads app.
Thanks!
