They asked me why i still have the pen you handed me
a couple years ago
i was late and i had forgotten my pencil case
and you handed me one and said "keep it"
and i did
It's sitting in my desk. I haven't
touched it since

and i don't know maybe it's weird
but it's something
i can pick it up and hold it
insubstantial though it is,
and point to it and say
"here, i was loved"
