**Remember to use the first edition Kindle page count only! If your page count comes from a Kindle edition published on the initial publication date on the editions page, it will count. If your page count comes from a Kindle edition labeled '1st edition', it will count. If your page count comes from the earliest dated English language Kindle edition, it will count. I am looking for one of those three things when confirming your books! As long the page count you list is correct, I will accept any link to the book. Ebook page count will be acceptable if no Kindle page count available. The acceptability of other page counts will be made on an individual basis.**
Please note that a rating is now required in your completion posts! A small review is also welcome. 😊
I think most of you know each other, at least a little, but feel free to introduce yourself again. Please give any relevant information, especially time zone as that helps know when it is best to communicate. 😊Please select a team leader to help keep track of where your team is in any given task. And as necessary guide discussions for task decisions. Any teammate can report your completions though.
Remember, it is the team's responsibility to notify the host (me) if a teammate fails to complete the task in a timely manner or otherwise goes missing! I am not checking all the team threads regularly to notice and may only check when notified a task is complete.
PS - If you want to be known as anything other than Team 15, you are free to come up with a team name. 😉
Since you will be a team of 3 instead of 4, I will adjust the tasks as needed when they are assigned. If I forget, do not hesitate to ask about it!! I will try, but I'm not perfect! 🤞🏼
Hi teammates! Shan here. I mainly read romance, which is good since this is a romance reading group, lol. Paranormal, historical, MM, contemporary.... It's hard to miss me in that genre. Time Zone: Central
Would either of you like to be our team leader?
Any ideas for team names?
Hi guys! I'm super excited to be participating. This is my first time in the race. My goal for this year has been one book a week but I have been doing pretty great on that - I am averaging about 2-3 books per week but really have all the free time in the world to read more. Lol Since we need a team leader, if neither of you mind, I volunteer. As for a team name, I am not that creative. :P Any ideas?
Shan ~A~ wrote: "Hi teammates! Shan here. I mainly read romance, which is good since this is a romance reading group, lol. Paranormal, historical, MM, contemporary.... It's hard to miss me in that genre. Time Zon..."
Ooh, I forgot my time zone. I am in the Eastern timezone and definitely open to just about any genre. I keep coming back to that silly Schoolhouse Rock song 3 is a Magic Number since we only have three team members. Lol
Hello Team!!! This is my first time doing the Amazing Race Challenge, but I've been doing the Meet N Greet here since round 5. I'm in the Chicago area, so Central time zone. I ONLY read romance with the occasional reread of Harry Potter books. I mostly read contemporary, suspense, mystery, paranormal, and sci-fi. I usually prefer funny books to dark books, but I'll sometimes read books with OTT drama and ones that make me tear up and reach for the tissues.
I'd rather not lead so I'm super excited that Ariel wants to volunteer. Yay!
I have a couple name ideas (all thanks given to Google! lol): 1. The Meet-Cutes (it's kind of romance themed)
2. Adventures in Bookland
3. The Bookworms
I kind of really like #1 because of the romance connection.
I am doing some organizing so we can all be ready when we get the first task. Since some tasks require a team coordination when it comes to what books get read, do you want to come up with ideas for those tasks now or make the decision as the task comes into play?
Ariel wrote: "I am doing some organizing so we can all be ready when we get the first task. If we wait it may take us longer to decide in the moment.
I went through the task list and pulled out the ones that require some sort of team coordination when it comes to what to read. - The One True Me and You by Remi K. England (young adult/m/m)
- The Unfortunate Miss Fortunes (paranormal romance)
- First Star I See Tonight by Susan Elizabeth Phillips
- Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover
YELLOW
- Mr. Perfect by Linda Howard (mystery/romance)
- Flat Out Love by Jessica Park
- Beach Read by Emily Henry
I'm not saying we have to choose from the books I listed - I just wanted to spout out some books I know I want to read at some point and fit the color requirements. My vote goes for Yellow.

Review: Claire-isms = Murphy's Law
I've sat here and typed and deleted several things because I'm not exactly sure what I want to say about this story.
I saw sleeping with the boss, so I thought it would be some angst due to Claire sleeping with Will, but even though he was part owner in the company she was working at as a temp, it didn't feel like a boss/employee relationship.
I saw "Seducing the enemy has never been so tempting…" in the blurb/synopis on GR and that didn't really fit the bill for me either.
What we have is a woman who meets a guy, in a very awkward encounter on the elevator (our meet cute). The guy turns out to be an Anderson (who owns the company). They are attracted to one another. There is a spy in the company, and you can imagine who the suspect is, so that makes her the enemy. Except...Will never treated her as such. He may have thought it was possible, but he always treated her like the woman he wanted to spend time with.
I was disappointed that she was suspected, because as soon as I knew about the spy, I knew she was going to be the #1 suspect. I was hoping the author proved me wrong.

Review:
This was everything I needed and more. I went in expecting a summery beachy vibe and I got angst and love and the idea that no one in the world is perfect and that's okay. This was the first book that I have read by Emily Henry and because of it, I will definitely be checking out more of her novels.
One thing that I loved the most about it was that I think she did a good job at making you care about the characters and being able to put the reader in the story. I was able to read it and picture myself there amongst the pain and the love. The relationship felt real. The friendship felt real. The pain of both of the main characters felt real. I can't wait to read more Emily Henry.
So far the only team that went with yellow. Here is you next task!
5. Read 4 books first published within the last year.
To qualify for this task, the selected books need to have been initially published on or after April 14, 2021. If there is a date listed at the top of the editions page use it. Otherwise I will be looking for the earliest dated English language edition regardless of format as the qualification. Please include the initial publication date of your selected book in your completion post.

Review: These two have been friends for years and also secretly in love with one another. Neither wants to jeopardize their friendship by acting on it, and they both think the other doesn't want anything more than friendship.
So the story is basically going back and forth between the two of them not acting on their feelings.
It's a cutesy story, and there were even some laugh out loud moments. There were times when I thought I was reading about teenagers instead of adults. At least that's what it felt like. But...there were also some really sweet moments too.

Review:
Oh. My. God. I was not expecting to love this book as much as I did. It took me a chapter or so to get into it but once I did, I did not want to put it down. This was the first book I have ever read by Casey McQuiston and it has me hooked.
In a previous review, someone mentioned this book being like a hug wrapped in a book and that is most definitely accurate. I felt warm and fuzzy watching August come into her own and love and angst was wonderful. I think that in recent books I have not related to a character as much as I related to August. I almost wish I could go back and read this again for the first time to really cherish it better.
Casey McQuiston seemed to do a great job fleshing out characters and making it all fit. I loved them all and would have loved reading so much more on every character, to be quite frank.
This is one that I definitely recommend.
I did notice that we never got an answer to your question, Shan, so I assume we only needed to read 3 for this task since there was only three of us.
Sorry, I did not see your question! I don't routinely check the team threads in this challenge, only when I come to check completions.Yes, you only needed to read 3 books, not 4! I'm glad you stopped there. Please ask in the Q&A thread or send me a PM if, but really that would be when, I mess that up again!

Review: Gavin and Raven had an instant connection from the moment they met.
The story doesn't open there though. It opens in the present after 10 yrs from when they met one another. Raven is Gavin's father's nurse, and she is about to come face to face with Gavin after all these years.
Then it goes to the beginning of their story, when Gavin was 21 yrs. old and Raven is 20 yrs. old. Gavin is home for the summer before going to law school and Raven is working at his family's home with her mom before going to nursing school.
As I said before, when they meet the connection is instant. Which is why the have a hard time staying away from each other. Too bad someone is willing to go to any means to make sure this relationship doesn't last.
One of the things that I loved, was how open Gavin and Raven were about their feelings. The vowed to be honest with one another and until the meddler interfered they kept that promise.
Now we're back to the present and there is still some truths that need to be revealed, but how will that impact their lives and will it change things for the better or make things worse?
Just to keep you guys updated, I'll have my review in soon. I came down with a cold yesterday and wasn't really up for much but thankfully it seems to have just been a 24 hour thing.

Review:
This was such a fun read. It took a chapter or two but I really ended up falling in with the book. Watching Shay come into her own throughout the story gave me hope because it's true - not everyone always knows where they are meant be right away and where you think you are supposed to be in life might end up throwing you a curveball as it did for Shay. Shay was just so relatable to me - it felt easy to root for her because I could see myself in her with the anxiety and the strive to be more than she was but not know how to necessarily get there with the cards that had been dealt to her.
In terms of the romance, I loved the light heartedness of it all. It was flirty. It was fun. The spice was a nice amount. It was just a good mixture of it all - plus, the angst of when the truth finally came out and how life has its consequences.
I highly recommend this book.
Here is your next task!Task 4 - 17. Read
Books selected for this task need to be written by a male author. Please include a link to the author’s profile or website in your completion post.
I'm just finishing up another book. It took me a little while to figure out a book for this one. I was going to try to read
by Sylvain Reynard. Though no one knows who the author really is, many sites say the author self-identifies as male. Instead, I'm going to read
by Jacob Chance. I think I read somewhere that we have a minimum of 150 pages so this 152 squeaks by.
It took some searching but I am going to go with
by Eric Jerome Dickey.I just double checked the original thread with the rules and yes, 150 pages is the minimum.
