Here we can discuss the tropes that we would rather throw away and never see again. Personally, I don't like when the romance overtakes as the main plot. I want to see the story progress, not watch the characters put themselves in awkward situations again and again.

To be honest, I don't really like tropes in general. I prefer unique plot ideas, rather than overused book tropes, even if they've been used in a nice way..
that is true, but I read something a while back that said every story ever has the same plot line or setting or whatever as another book, and it's very difficult to come up with something wholly unique, so I guess that's why tropes are used so commonly because there is no way that an author can generate a unique plot or anything like that

And I believe that's what makes a book special, when it isn't that similar to others. Most of (if not all) my favourite books, are my favourites exactly for this reason. Cause their plot was unique, and they didn't have any overly used trope. Of course tropes can be gorgeous in their own way, I'm not trying to make somebody feel bad for liking them, they're just not really my cup of tea :)
