Evan (evanny) "A hero is someone who understands the responsibility that comes with his freedom."

Thirteen years ago, the first one appeared, and more soon followed. They were genetically advanced humans, with abilities far beyond what the average person could do. Quickly dubbed 'mutants' by the general public, they were feared for their abilities. Some mutant children were kicked out of their homes and onto the streets. Many mutants lost their jobs when their abilities were discovered. Some were even killed by rioting mobs. Mutants were simultaneously feared and hated by society.

Ten years ago, the Powered Individuals' Rights Act was passed, granting protection to those with extraordinary abilities. Despite the protections it granted mutants, the stigma and fear still existed, and it was quickly realized that a better solution was needed.

Nine years ago, the Lewis Institute was established on a large estate in Maryland.

The Lewis Institute has the goal to take in and train those with powers and mutations. Mutants from all over the country attend it, many being forced to due to the social stigma and inability to fit in anywhere else. It serves as both a school and training institute for mutants, and houses those from grades 9 through 12. The Institute provides them a safe way to control their abilities, with the goal of reintegrating them into society after graduation.

It's the beginning of the 2015 school year now, and you're invited to attend.
