Jenna Marie ~Scheming Scribbler~ | 94 comments Hey guys!! I'm about to start sending my most recent book, The Burning Ember, out to agents for publication. I am yet to decide on my comp titles (books that are in the same genre/topic, or books that would attract the same crowd as mine, that have done well in the publishing world and are about 3 years old or newer). I'd love if anyone had some ideas!

Here's the synopsis:
By looking at thirteen-year-old Rika, with her blond hair and blue eyes, nobody would question that she was an obedient Dutch girl under Nazi occupation. Nobody expects that she is a Jew who once was put into a concentration camp after losing both of her parents, who escaped the camp, and who now lives under a fake identity, taking illegal photographs. Not even Rika expects that one of her photographs will fall into Nazi hands and lead to the death of others, though. Horrified at and destroyed by what she has done, Rika sets her fears aside to follow in her father's footsteps, to make wrongs right, and save her country, no matter what the cost.

It is middle grade historical fiction. Any ideas appreciated!!

So do I give you titles of books with the same genre and their publishing companies?

Basically. For example, if it was a fantasy book someone wrote, they might compare it to Harry Potter and Percy Jackson.

Kaytlin Phillips (kaytlinphillips) | 15 comments Oh, that sounds sooo good! Sounds similar to Resistance by Jennifer Nielsen and Don't tell the Enemy (or Don't tell the Nazis depending on when and where the book was published) Don't tell the Enemy is MG...I can't remembered the authors name....and Resistance is YA...I think...hope that helps!
