Objectively terrible, or bad as part of the lord of the rings universe? As one with no real experience or understanding of the source material watching it last year, I didn't dislike it, although the characters felt a bit flat. I can see how an attachment to the universe might make it impossible to seperate the two & see it like that.

Aside from lore inaccuracies the writing felt stilted and weird, there was so much that could have been cut out, a lot of the things they added felt like shameless rip-offs of the actual films. Plus, characters were needlessly dumb and aggravating and the whole story relied on convenience.

Anyone watching the second season. Personally, I was very disappointed by the first season. The show only seems to borrow characters, city names and landmarks from Tolkien, but it didn't really follow his writing. And honestly, the show just was extremely boring. So, I have never renewed my Amazon subscription.
