Homecoming question

Ok this is my first time posting here. I am an adult woman who grew up on Cynthia Voigts wonderful books and am looking for recommendations for books I may like which will make me feel as these books did. Does anyone here know what I’m talking about? That feeling of getting lost in a book that is beautiful, simple and unpretentious? I have read many, many books in my life but it’s the Tillerman and Kingdom series that I can read over and over again and feel like I’m getting a new yet familiar experience every time. Please indulge me with your thoughts on this. Not necessarily looking for young adult genre. I honestly don’t remember the last good book I read but I don’t want anything too “heavy” either.
