Kay leads Archie to a booth, squeezing his hand with a proud smile, his eyes glittering with affection. "I'm really proud of you, Arch, you know that?" he says lovingly as they sit down.
"So, what're you getting?" Kay asks, taking a seat across from Archie and still holding his hand across the table.
((lol havent u eaten yet))
Kay nods as a waiter comes over to take their order. He places an order for some pasta, and after Archie orders, looks back at him. "What do you say about seeing Iz and Asher sometimes soon?" he suggests.

((oh no u should eat))
Kay smiles and texts Izzy. "So what d'you wanna do after this?" he asks Archie afterward.

"She said we could go meet them today," Kay tells him. "But only if you want. Otherwise we can meet up another time."
((o no. sorry tornado warning might not respond))
Kay nods, smiling in excitement. He eats his pasta, watching Archie proudly.

[TW: S/H, hearing voices, mentions of paranoia]
Kay bites his lip, feeling like he messed it up. "I'm gonna go to the bathroom," he says quietly, leaving his half-eaten pasta behind. Before Archie can say anything, he gets up and quickly walks away, his arms tucked tightly against himself.
When he gets to the bathroom, he locks himself inside the far stall and leans against the wall, sinking to the ground. Fuck. I just wanted to have a normal date. Just once. And I went and fucked it up. Kay fights back tears threatening to spill out of his welled-up eyes, holding himself tighter and clenching his hands so hard his fingernails left marks in his palms.
Nobody knows this yet, but Kay has just recently stopped taking his meds. He's been having mildly paranoid thoughts, convinced they were hurting him somehow, and he hasn't taken them in over a week. Instead, he throws one away each night in an attempt to convince Archie he's still taking them.
As tears roll down his cheeks, Kay feels the familiar voices starting to return. Shit, they're back, he thinks vaguely, but he doesn't pay much attention. He tries to block them out, just focusing on breathing deeply and calming himself down. But they won't leave him alone.
𝔍𝔲𝔰𝔱 𝔬𝔫𝔢 𝖈𝖚𝖙.
Kay shakes his head, trying to clear the voices from his mind.
𝔍𝔲𝔰𝔱 𝔬𝔫𝔢 𝔱𝔦𝔫𝔶 𝔩𝔦𝔱𝔱𝔩𝔢 𝖈𝖚𝖙.
But they won't leave him alone.
𝔇𝔬 𝔦𝔱. 𝔜𝔬𝔲 𝔡𝔢𝔰𝔢𝔯𝔳𝔢 𝔦𝔱. 𝕮𝖚𝖙.
Not until he does.
𝕮𝖚𝖙, 𝔶𝔬𝔲 𝔰𝔱𝔲𝔭𝔦𝔡 𝔣𝔲𝔠𝔨-𝔲𝔭. 𝕮𝖚𝖙.
"FINE, I'LL CUT!" Kay yells, bursting from his little ball on the floor. He retrieves a pocketknife from his jacket (he'd just recently started carrying one around again because he hadn't hurt himself in a while) and slices into his arm.
𝔄𝔤𝔞𝔦𝔫.
Once. Twice.
𝔐𝔬𝔯𝔢. 𝔜𝔬𝔲 𝔡𝔢𝔰𝔢𝔯𝔳𝔢 𝔦𝔱.
His forearm blossoms with scarlet, rivulets running down and dripping onto the floor. Kay gives an anguished cry, dropping the pocketknife to the tile floor where it lands with a sharp clatter. "Fuck," he whispers. "Fuck fuck fuck." He repeats this, over and over, crimson staining the bathroom stall where he stands in a panic, running his hands through his hair in distress and staining it red. "Fuck."

Archie sits there for a while before starting to worry about Kay. He gets up and goes to the bathroom. “Kay?” He says opening the door. “You okay in here?”
Kay freezes at Archie's voice, but he's hyperventilating out of panic and Archie could've been able to see a little of the blood under the stall door.
Archie hears Kay breathing hard. He goes and knocks on the door. “Kay?” He says and looks at the ground. He sees blood. “Hey baby why don’t you come out? I’m not mad I promise” Archie’s a bit disappointed but doesn’t want to freak my out anymore
"I-I..." Kay stammers. "I can't... You're gonna hate me..." He looks around him, at the mess everywhere and the new cuts in his arm. Despite everything in him telling him not too, Kay unlocks the door, and it slowly swings open, revealing the mess inside. "Fucking hell... I didn't mean to do it, Arch. I– The voices told me to. They wouldn't leave me alone till I did." Tears well up in his eyes once more as he speaks, and they drip down his cheeks in little glistening rivers.
Archie looks around for a place to step without getting blood on his shoes. “It’s okay baby. Why don’t you come out. Let’s get you cleaned up” he would deal with the fact Kay said the voices were back later
Kay nods tearfully, slowly coming out of the stall. He leans against Archie, holding his bloodied arm out so he doesn't get blood on Archie's clothes. "I'm so sorry," he whispers, sorrow filling his voice.
“It’s okay baby. Let’s get you cleaned up” he tells him. Archie grabs some paper towels and starts holding it against Kay’s arms
Kay bites his lip and nods, feeling awful. He knows he's disappointed Archie, maybe even hurt him. He winces when Archie starts to clean him up but knows he's just trying to help him and doesn't say anything.
((It’s fine))Archie signs not knowing how to clean this up in a restaurant bathroom. “I’m gonna tell them you got a really bad nosebleed and we are gonna pay and then go”
Kay chews on his lower lip. "Wh-where are we gonna go?" he stammers nervously. He doesn't want to go to the hospital because he doesn't want to be put on any more meds – he's worried enough about taking the ones he has now as it is.
“Home. I’m gonna clean you up. Your gonna take your meds and then your gonna rest” he tells him taking Kays hand gently. “Can you walk to the car by yourself or do I need to help you get there?”
Kay doesn't want to take his meds when he gets back but he doesn't say anything, wanting to avoid making the situation worse. "I'll be alright," he says quietly, holding his arm against himself so when he walks out it doesn't freak people out.
Archie nods. He washes his hands before walking with Kayden out. He goes to the waiter and tells him Kay had a bad nosebleed in the bathroom. The waiter gave them his check, Archie paid before walking outside to kayden
Kay is sitting defeated on a bench outside the restaurant, head in his hands as tears silently roll down his cheeks.
Archie goes to Kayden. “Cmon sweetheart. Let’s go home” he says helping him up and into the car. Archie drives back home
