⭒The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins⭒
Love the Hunger Games. i wish that in the second movie, it showed Plutarch showing Katniss the watch with a mockingjay. cause in the book, that happens and it was a key factor to help her figure out the arena was a clock.(i hope this makes sense. lol)
I love Catching Fire, too! The first book is cool because you're meeting the characters and seeing the world for the first time. Even though the injustice is obvious, it has more a feeling of bewilderment and then victory. Whereas Catching Fire actually makes me angry that they have to go back in.Mockingjay seemed too contrived to me as far as the city traps and whatnot.
Mockingjay is definitely my least favorite of the three. it just makes me so angry XD I like the second and first a lot tho

I stand by that!
I stand by that!
Favorite character? Probably Peeta. But one of my favorite things about the Hunger Games trilogy is how Katniss is such a 3-dimensional character. I really felt that I got to know her better than a lot of the POV characters in other books. She made a lot of choices I didn't like, but they all fit her personality.
What do you guys think about the Gale and Peeta thing? At least from my memory, it was quite annoying! Love triangles aren't always my thing, and I remember the one from The Hunger Games getting on my nerves. Maybe that's just me, though!

XD I kinda agree!

Haha, I forgot what the "thing with the children" is!

Ohh, yes, I remember Prim dying! That last book was crazy smh

And then he just randomly disappeared, right? I remember Katniss thinking something along the lines of, "Oh, I bet Gale has already found another girl. Whatever." And then he just disappeared for the rest of the series...
I couldn't stand Peeta at first, but he grew on me. It helped that Josh Hutcherson had a huge real life crush on Jennifer Lawrence during filming and YOU COULD TOTALLY TELL. haha

My favorite Hunger Games books in order, best to worst.- Hunger Games
- Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes
- Catching Fire
(and way down the line.....)
- Mockingjay
Honestly. Catching Fire and the Ballad of... were a tie for me. Maybe in a few years I'll reread them and update my list. I just can't take too much injustice in too short of time, lol.
Audrey wrote: "What did everyone think of The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes?"My favorite, in order would be, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes (no matter what the general opinion, I consider it a masterpiece), Catching Fire (it honestly might be tied for first), then probably The Hunger Games, followed by Mockingjay, although I've been known to change my mind about those last two.
i just started hunger games and i love it i am up to the third book and so far my fav is catching fire!

I don't personally think it's bad, although it's not my favorite in the series. I think most people dislike it because it's the saddest. One death in particular seems very unnecessary and no one was happy about that. Also, some parts are a bit slower, and I think a lot of people prefer the books that involve the actual Hunger Games.
I can honestly say I am not a huge fan of these books; I've only read the first one and I had to suffer through the whole thing (I honestly liked the movie way more🫣).

The Bookish Songs Collective have a Hunger Games inspired song. It's called Much Worse Games to Play, and it's really good.

Yeah, it's really good. I also love their Grishaverse album, although some of the songs do have lyrics that I don't agree with, but, you, know, it's the Grishaverse.
Who else shipped Snowbaird more in the movie than in the book? In the book I wasn't sure, then I shipped them, then I really shipped them, then I didn't, then I did, and, well, you get the idea. But in the movie, I just shipped them HARD. Well, until yk.

Yeah that's true, but it's definitely unfortunate.
I've been reading Catching Fire to my mom, and debating the whole TBOSAS or CF thing again. Also, my mom was so shocked when Peeta died. :) Btw, who else loves when they get the parachute and Finnick says, "Why don't we let Peeta claim it, since he died today"?
Essentially, every time Finnick is on the page I love it. His and Katniss's interactions are the best. One of the best friendships in all of fiction, if you ask me.
This is one of the best series of all time. Don't know if I have a favorite book in the series, but I think it's between Mockingjay and ballad. Totally team peeta btw. But I also love Gail. I don't no why people hate on him so much. And I totally shiped Snowbaird. They were so cute together. But I haven't watched the movie, yet.

Yes Katniss and Finnick's friendship is great. And I personally have that quote liked,I believe.
Guys, there's a new one coming out in March. It's called Sunrise on the Reaping and looks like it's about Haymitch. It's during his Games so...
COMING MARCH 18, 2025!!!! The fifth novel in Collins' bestselling series is another prequel to the original trilogy, which takes place 40 years after the events of his most recent book, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.THE HUNGER GAMES: DAWN AT HARVEST kicks off on the morning of The Hunger Games Harvest Ceremony - the Second Quarter Quell and the games won by Haymitch Abernathy! We'll have Haymitch's story.

Angieleigh wrote: "Ava wrote: "I'm so excited!!! How am I gonna wait till March though?!" Reread it over and over again? lol"I might have to actually reread the series, even though I just read it for the first time between November and February.
Facts. I'll never forget the first time I read them, they'd just come out and my mom borrowed the first one from a friend so I picked it up since I'd seen it around. Then she (playfully) scolded me because I finished it before she did 😂
i only read the first book and the ballad of songbirds and snakes. while tbosas was good , the hunger games was amazing
maja wrote: "i only read the first book and the ballad of songbirds and snakes. while tbosas was good , the hunger games was amazing"You read TBOSAS without reading the whole trilogy?
I think TBOSAS is prob my fav lol. But I love all of them.
