Okay, things we know so far:Jayrin gets their first kiss in book 3. (Happy dance and squeal!)
There is no prison escape in book 4 (At least, I believe it's 4)
Daniel has a big role in book 4. (Does he get converted in this book?)
There may be more, but that's all I'm pulling off the top of my head.
A personal fan speculation of mine: Kaden's future love interest will be Tallas' youngest sister. Oh, and Timothy and Leetra are meant for each other.
Anyone else have thoughts?
Okay, so it's quite clear from the first few chapters of Book 1 that Jace is going to end up in that fancy big arena. Sigh...poor guy.I've got this feeling that Davira and Jace are going to clash at one point. With any luck, Kyrin will be there Oo! Maybe she'll turn into a proper wildcat!
And Daniel might get "kidnapped" by the Resistance while he's out riding. :)
And Jace and Holden are on Richard's hit list, so there will be another confrontation there.
Book 3!!! Oh my goodness, I just saw the reveal at the end of The King's Scrolls! Samara's Peril! Why on earth is it called Samara's Peril? And what does that have to do with Jace? Is he somehow connected to Samara? Wha..what..? Jaye, I am DYING over here.
I get the feeling that Kyrin's maid from "Resistance" (I don't remember her name, and I lent my copy to my best friend so I can't check) will come back at some point.
Hannah said: And Daniel might get "kidnapped" by the Resistance while he's out riding. :)Hehe, I love that idea! :)
Thank you, Katie, I've gone and corrected it! So silly of me, I have no idea why my eyes switched it; it's so obviously Peril, not Pearl. :p
Wow, this is great! :) I love the idea of Daniel being "kidnapped"! That'd be a nice change in his life for once, :DOoh, I'm kind of scared. What's going to happen to Jace in Samara's Peril? Yikes. And do we really know Jace and Kyrin get their first kiss in Samara's Peril?? Eep, how exciting!! :D <3
And YES! Timothy and Leetra!! :) :)
Jaye posted about the kiss on FB while writing SP, so yes, it's official. I'm curious who gets to break out of prison in this book.
I seriously can't wait to share Samara's Peril. :) I'm going to be adding it here to Goodreads on Wednesday since I'm making the "official" announcement of the title that day for anyone who didn't see it at the end of the book. ;)
And I'm totally loving all these speculations. :D

AH!! :) I can hardly wait to read Samara's Peril!! :) I'm getting more intrigued as the moments go by, :D Well, that kiss is long awaited, ;)Yay for Wednesday! :)

In a perfect world, I'd have it ready for Christmas. I'm just not sure how much editing it's going to take and how well it will go once I start. We'll see.

So I've always thought Jace's dad would be some mean ryrik while his mom was some unfortunate victim who died in childbirth or something. But then I thought, considering Jace is alive, what if his dad wasn't actually a horrible guy? What if his mother was afraid of the scandal and gave her child away?
And then I got REALLY speculative. What if his dad was the human and had fallen in love with a ryrik girl? What if his dad was someone like the King of Samara who of course couldn't have a half-ryrik for a prince and had him sent away?
Shocking theories I know, and most likely dead wrong.

0__0 There's a thought...
So in Samara's Pearl we might meet his dad! *squeels*
Ghost Ryter wrote: "Katie wrote: "Best. Christmas. Present. Ever! xD"Indeed! *excited*"
I like this theory, but ... it was revealed in one of the Q&A's that the ryrik blood is from his dad. BUT that isn't to say we won't meet a parent in Samara's Peril. Jaye has promised backstory!
Yes, the interview did say we could safely assume it was his dad. Of course that is still only "assume", but I do think the ryrik would most likely be the dad. Still, one must suspect that we will meet some of his family! What if he has SIBLINGS? I doubt it, since a half-ryrik is such a big deal, but perhaps there are more half-ryriks who only blend into their people.
Hmmm. Hmmm. So many questions to be answered. :D
I speculated it might have been from his dad, but I'm glad to have it confirmed. I think he'd have to be a nicer-ish ryrik, right? Maybe we meet his mom at some point? Maybe since she's human she can tell him once and for all that he has a soul.
I hope to see the ryriks developed more in general. Are they ALL so awful and if so why? Is their evilness inherent or only a choice driven by their natural attributes?
Hannah wrote: "I hope to see the ryriks developed more in general. Are they ALL so awful and if so why? Is their evilness inherent or only a choice driven by their natural attributes?"I second that.
Hannah wrote: "I hope to see the ryriks developed more in general. Are they ALL so awful and if so why? Is their evilness inherent or only a choice driven by their natural attributes?"Yes! Jaye showed us a good shraik in the Makilien series, I can't imagine her not doing the same for the Ryricks. I mean: we have JACE!!!
Exactly. Jace. He's SO sweet, despite all the awful things he's been through. And he's half ryrik which puts him on default for being evil. And he's not. So if a half ryrik is capable of good, the truebloods should be as well. We shall see...we shall see.
I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO IS SHIPPING TIMOTHY AND LEETRA??? *SQUEAL!* I named the ship, Leeothy! ^_^Hmm some of these things are very interesting...
FIRST JACE KYRIN KISS IN BOOK 3! Best. news. ever. I can't wait. I want that so bad.
I shipped 'em from the moment he was admiring her eyes, because I know Jaye. If you're in a guy's head, and he admires a girl's eyes, they're meant for each other. And I totally accept Leeothy.
***Edit*** Um, I accidental wrote Jace instead of Jaye there. Awkward a bit ...

AHH!!! This is the best news ever! I can't wait for it!!

I shipped them a fraction of a second before he was admiring her eyes. And then he admired her eyes and I was like "PLEASE CAN THEY BE A THING?" :D

I never even thought of them being together, but I now ship it! Leeothy!
I have a sneaking suspicion that Collin might show up again sometime in the future. It'd be interesting to see what Marcus and Liam think of him. Also, and I'm hoping I'm wrong, Miss Jaye might eliminate Rayad....
Am I the only one who gets the vibe of total misfit between Timothy and Leetra? I found that admiring eyes scene uncomfortable actually. Timothy's such a godly man of the Scrolls that he needs a woman who is 100% grounded in knowing and loving the Word too... and maybe that's Leetra, but I haven't seen anything close to that in her so far. Timothy's not the kind of man to fall for a girl just because she has pretty eyes... He's patient, she's impatient. Wouldn't that annoy them?Trask and Anne? Made for each other. Jace and Kyrin? Meant to be...someday... But Timothy and Leetra? I can't see it at this point.
And am I the only one who thinks Samara's Peril is much too soon for a kiss from where J and K at now? Unless SP covers a very long stretch of time... I mean they don't even think romantically about each other yet as of our latest information so far. I'm 100% for it at some point, but don't rush such an important scene!
You don't have to absolutely fit the person God has picked out for you... Sometimes that's why you're going to be together, because you balance each other out. (*cough*EanrinandImraldera*cough*)
Ghost Ryter, to avoid spoilers, I won't answer that directly... but check out the very end of TKS Chapter 8 for Jace's perspective and the end of TKS Chapter 13 for Kyrin's. Seems pretty evident that they're not close to there yet.
I have to disagree, Resterwen. As opposed to the dating and courting systems of today, the circumstances and perils Jace and Kyrin are in test character and relationships to the highest degree. If they aren't able to tell whether they're willing to commit their lives to each other by that time (which they've already been doing), I'd have been surprised. Knowing how Jaye handled a proposal in a previous novel, I doubt it will be a quiet moment, but rather at a time of great distress. Just guessing. After Kyrin and Jace have sacrificed so much for each other, earned the approval of her father and others, and are in constant danger of their own lives...Anyway, I was picking up some very strong hints of romance through The King's Scrolls, and I don't feel that it blossoming in Book 3 would be rushed.
They'd be kind of inhuman not to develop strong feelings for each other at that point, not to mention they already show true sacrificial love for each other at every turn.
I said I wouldn't comment in here that much, but I thought I'd give a few of my thoughts. I did purposely drop subtle hints of their growing relationship in TKS--in the little things Jace notices about Kyrin and the way they interact, even if they don't actually realize what's happening. Actually, I think at one point while writing TKS I put on Facebook that I looked over at my mom and gleefully exclaimed, "He's falling in love and he doesn't even know it!" And, of course, there was that moment in the bell tower. As for the timeframe, Samara's Peril takes place the following summer, so they've known each other for a full year and had all winter to get to know each other even better while things were finally quiet. :)
It may depend a good bit on how it's done. Of course we can see it building up to that in Resistance and TKS - their protective instincts toward each other, enjoying each other's company, being good friends, wanting to help each other - I'm just saying that in their minds it's not romance at the moment (see previously cited chapters 8 and 13). And that's why it may depend on what happens in SP; there's enough of a "we're good friends" foundation in R and TKS that a sudden crisis (maybe relating to the peril of Samara?) could suddenly throw upon them the realization that they could marry each other, and they would already know they can trust the other person.
But at the same time, Jace takes such things VERY slowly. He thinks he's not worthy of marriage, much less of a decent girl, much less a wonderful girl like Kyrin. I can't see him jumping head-over-heels in love with her suddenly. Still, we know he's going to go through a lot of soul growth in SP, so it could get that far.
That's why this is called "speculations." :D I just would rather not see either of them rushed merely to get them together sooner...they're still very young and hopefully are very much enjoying their very temporary singleness at the moment. :)
EDIT: Jaye, you posted after I began writing this. :) Thanks for jumping in; it's great to know we can trust you not to make your characters do illogical things. :) And the "falling in love and not knowing it" thing is so great. Very Jace. :) And very Kyrin too, I think.

You're pretty much spot on with this. ;)
