I think it was a combination of all three depending on who was talking to Sebastian and what their agenda was. I mistrusted Count who was into roses, Niccolò Aravena. I didn't like him at all. I felt the only trustworthy people were Sophie's housekeeper, Geneviéve Dion, and Émile Landrieu, the man who kept the museum. Fanny Carpenter surprised me the most, I never would have pegged her as the villain.
