Hi Katie! I'm Claire from Claireybooks on Instagram and I took part in Jane Austen July for the first time last year and just adored it! I have a massive potential tbr for July this year so it's veryyyy exciting ☆
Right. So, hello! I’ve been welcomed back to Books and Things! My name is Mike and I live in Iowa, United States. This will be my second Jane Austen July. Last year I read all six main novels in July, three of which were new to me. Not sure I’ll try that again in a single month. LOL. Looking forward to re-reading Pride and Prejudice and perhaps many of the shorter works.
Hello everyone! I’m so excited for Jane Austen July this year! I’ve been looking forward to it since Christmas! I can’t wait to dive back in and immerse myself into the world of Jane Austen! ❤️ I am Brandy Ange from YouTube and @vagabee on Instagram!
Hello! I can't believe its almost time for Jane Austen July! This will be my third or fourth year participating. I saved my annual re-read of Pride and Prejudice for July.
Hello everyone! My name is Carolina, I am from Chile. I am very excited to participate for the first time in this initiative. In July I will be doing my annual Pride and Prejudice reread as well as Rebecca. And maybe read Lady Susan too.
Hello! I'm Liz and this is my 3rd Jane Austen July. I'm really excited to continue reading her books, books about her, and historical fiction set in her lifetime. Hooray for Jane Austen July!!!!!
hi! i'm matilda. this is my first time participating and i'm excited to reread pride and prejudice. :)
Hello there!A longtime Janeite here and always happy to have an excuse to read Jane Austen and about Jane Austen and her world.
Hello All! This is my second Jane Austen July and I've been waiting for this since January!!! I haven't decided on my TBR yet...but I got SO EXCITED watching Katie describe all of the things that I know I'm going to have to take some time and go through all of the new books I want to read! I am going to use June to plan all the things so I can really enjoy reading in July! Cheers!
Hello! I'm a reader from Italy and this is my first Jane Austen July. I'm hoping to use this as an opportunity to read at least one of the two novels of hers that I've never read before: Northanger Abbey and Persuasion. I'd like to read both, but we'll see if I can manage it or not. I will also definitely be joining the Lady Susan readalong, since I've never read that one either. I'm excited to experience these books for the first time :)
Hello, everyone! This is my first Jane Austen July. I've been following Katie's "Books and Things" posts, and was excited to see this event being announced. I attend a lot of JASNA online events (I thoroughly enjoy the people and topics!), but still have to work my way through completing the Jane Austen oeuvre. I'm hoping Jane Austen July will give me the needed extra push! :) Happy reading, Mimi
Hello, I'm Lu and I'm so excited for yet another Jane Austen July! I'm looking forward to rereading Pride & Prejudice and Lady Susan. 📚 Thank you to our hosts!
❤️
Hello everyone, I'm Janice and I believe this is my 3rd Jane Austen July. :) I have been looking forward to this since last year's Jane Austen July!! I am so excited to be rereading Pride and Prejudice and Lady Susan. I am also hoping to read Emma as it is the only one of the six I haven't read.
Hello, I have never done all the prompts but I think I have joined in on most of the years JAJ has been around but I might have missed a year. I have not read all her works so I hope to come close by next year and then start to reread.
Hi everyone! I'm María and this is my third Jane Austen July (at least, not sure anymore :P). As usual, I'm probably not going to fulfill every prompt, but I plan to join the group reads and reread those two fabulous books!
Hi I'm Rachel. I am so excited for this JAJ - I've been waiting for the announcement for ages! Literally my favourite month because of this! - because of Jane Austen 😀
Hi, everyone. I'm Lorri and I love reading and studying Jane Austen. This is my third JAJ and I am so excited to participate again!
Hi everyone! I'm KD. This is my first JAJ. Just finished reading P&P and Mansfield Park for the first time. Not sure what I'll read for the challenge, but it may be Emma. Happy JAJ everyone!
Hello Janeites! This will be my first Jane Austen July. I look forward to sharing the experience of a month-long dive into the wonderful world of Jane.
Hello, this is my first Jane Austen July but the program requirements sound like any ordinary July for me, or any other month! Pretty obsessed.
Hey, Corina Joy here joining in for the first time also reading Jane Austen for the first time! I'm supper excited
Oh, I so envy you, Corina Joy! I can’t even remember the thrill of reading her for the first time. What I do remember is that when I started, I wound up reading all six novels back to back five times, so be prepared . . .
Corina wrote: "Hey, Corina Joy here joining in for the first time also reading Jane Austen for the first time! I'm supper excited"Oh wow! Amazing! One thing you need to know is that Jane Austen did not write romance novels. She wasn't a romance writer, a Romantic (era) writer either. Her books are drawing room comedies/comedies of manners with witty social commentary and strong female characters who know their own minds. Enjoy!
Hi, I'm Madhurita, from India and this is going to be my first Jane Austen July. I have read all of her 6 novels and now look forward to reading and loving them again..
It’s lovely to have you join us, Madhurita! I was just virtually visiting your country over the weekend, by watching a Tamil version of Sense and Sensibility (I Have Found It with Aishwarya Rai). Looking forward to hearing your perspectives.
Hi everyone, I'm Antigony and this is my 2nd JAJ. Really enjoyed it last time and looking forward to it again this year :-) Thanks to Katie, Marissa and Claudia for hosting.

I borrowed it from the library. Bride and Prejudice was a more direct and funny adaptation. "I Have Found It" had too many inside jokes and song and dance numbers for my personal taste but when it stuck to Austen's story it was funny.
I Have Found It, thank you! I saw that film years ago in undergrad and loved it but forgot to write down the name of it. Now to see if the library has it.
Hello! I’m Dani from Scotland. This is my first time taking part in Jane Austen July and I’m very much looking forward to it 😊
Christine from Virginia, USA. Last year was my first time being part of Austen in July. Looking forward to reading both of this year's books. I have a fun edition of Pride and Prejudice with 19 "handwritten" letters from the characters. Have the reading schedule marked out on my calendar and am ready to go on 1 July.

These books are gorgeous and well worth buying.
HiI am Chris from the UK. Tried to do JAJ once before but life overtook me and I had to abandon it the first time. Now retired with no ties so am able to devote the whole of July to Miss Austen.
Looking forward to both readalongs and intend to read Persuasion and possibly try again with Mansfield Park.

Pride and Prejudice: The Complete Novel, with Nineteen Letters from the Characters' Correspondence, Written and Folded by Hand
I got it for Christmas year before last. It makes a good gift because it's so special. It's well worth the price. I hope they do more.
So many beautiful editions of Austen's works out there. This is the pride of my own collection https://blackwells.co.uk/bookshop/pro...
Hello everyone! I'm so thrilled to see so many other people getting psyched about Jane Austen this next month 💕My name is Pippin, I run a book blog called The Pigeon, and my favorite Austen novel is Mansfield Park. It is SO criminally underrated and I will inflict it on everyone I can 😤
It’s my favorite too, Pippin! At least the one I respect the most, though not perhaps the one I reread most often.
Hi everyone, my name is Lisa and this will be my first Jane Austen July ‘formally’ participating - very much looking forward to it!
