I'm joining this awesome little buddy read, and I started early, because I couldn't help it!

I'm about half way through, having just finished the real life story that inspired The Exorcist. I'm loving it so far, especially the early section on the 1920s serial killers, because I didn't know much about them!

Wow! This book is really good with the background true crime stories. I am about 24% through the book.

I thought (view spoiler)[Ed Gein's background which was for Psycho and Texas Chainsaw Massacre was interesting. I never really thought about true crime being behind some of the horror movies that were made - Ed Gein though was one sicko dude. I am trying to remember if I have even read a true crime book about him and I don't think I have - so this background on his life and crimes was totally messed up. (hide spoiler)]

What I thought was really fascinating about the Ed Gein story was that (view spoiler)[it was the inspiration for both Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Psycho. I knew about the Texas Chainsaw connection, but I did not know about the Psycho connection. That one really blew my mind. (hide spoiler)]

I am about half way through this book - I am still reading it here and there. It is all very interesting and I really never realized that some of the movies were based on actual crimes.

I finished this book! Four stars from me! I really liked how the author went into so much detail and it was just enough to not be "detail overload". Really enjoyed this book! :)
