Dave Wickenden (dogday) | 1 comments Thanks for the welcome. I'm a thriller writer from Canada and I'm about 1/2 way through the first draft of my 7th novel. It deals with a terrorist attacks at a Sudbury refinery.

Is the refinery in Ontario?

message 9: by TB.Rem (new)

TB.Rem | 6 comments Hey thanks for the invite Michael I'm working on writing a dark fantasy novel. It's a monster of a multi POV novel, my 4th although my first three are terrible as I published them as a teenager. It's an experiment in driving the plot through character decisions VS action and seeing if that works. Very dark and brutal story and it's difficult and enjoyable. Hoping to make it my very first actually well written novel. Its gunna take like 5 drafts to get it right I'm guessing at very least lmao

Thoughts Before REM, I visited your YouTube channel and subscribed. I liked your views on writing stoic characters. I posted a link to a classical Stoicism playlist https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list...

Welcome to the group! -Michael Cook

TB.Rem | 6 comments Thank you very much Mr. Cook I saw, I took a look at some of the videos on that channel. I can see why you listen to it. Its relaxing and I havent watched many but they seem pretty interesting lol I've been trying to look up some philosophy videos.

TB.Rem | 6 comments yessir, it's really well informed. That's my REM sleep got to lol, I like his video on Stoicism but I would reccomend his video questioning if anything in the world matter, The one about what love is, or the one about death.

I'll check it out. There is a great Seneca video on Death as well https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CN-we...

As you can tell, I've been binging classic stoicism videos.

Back to the topic question, I have been working on a book called "The Little Boy on the Bay" -Michael Cook

Sacha Rosel Thank you so much for inviting me to this group, Michael!! Here is a link to my book My Heart is The Tempest, a dark fantasy novel loosely inspired by Shakespeare's The Tempest and meant to be part of a trilogy, published by Canadian publisher Vraeyda:https://www.amazon.com/My-Heart-Tempe...

message 18: by Sacha (new)

Sacha Rosel Back to your question, I'm currently working on Volume 2 of the trilogy. Thank you again!!

That's a great idea Sacha. The Tempest is one of my favorite Shakespeare plays. I tried to follow you as an author on Amazon.com but there is no author page for you. It's free to setup in Author Central. Here is what mine looks like https://amzn.to/3QHsgoK

Anne | 1 comments Thanks for the invitation to the group, Michael! I’m currently working on a nonfiction book for Lyons Press — the history of the 1920s Taxi Wars in Chicago. It’s a story that is close to my heart, because my great-grandfather was the Vice-President and then the President of the Yellow Cab Company during this era, and he died under questionable circumstances at the height of it all. I have wanted to shine a light on this aspect of Chicago history for many years!

That's great. Are you looking for a traditional publisher or planning to self-publish? -Michael Cook

Bryan Farrell | 1 comments Thanks for adding me, Michael! I'm currently doing final edits on what will be my debut novel, a blackly comic paranormal thriller titled How To Contact The Living, and slowly and with much procrastination pulling together my first book of short stories. I find writer brain and editor brain aren't the same thing so it's definitely a challenge switching back and forth between the two projects.
