Sophia (~*-*)~ (sophiada12) Vampires are described as pale, so are all vampires white?

Please note:
This is not a racist comment in the least. I was just wondering.

Sophia (~*-*)~ (sophiada12) Rip could also stand for rest in pieces.

message 3: by [deleted user] (new)

what if we suddenly saw all the colours in the world differently

message 4: by Sophia (~*-*)~ (new)

Sophia (~*-*)~ (sophiada12) What would happen if we could only read backwards?

Sophia (~*-*)~ (sophiada12) If mirrors show the opposite of you, then mirroring someone should mean you do the opposite, right?

message 6: by Sophia (~*-*)~ (new)

Sophia (~*-*)~ (sophiada12) So…
Everyone keeps saying that the human mind can do amazing things, while my brain is like:
lol + lol = lollol
Or
The continent in ACOTAR is a minimum of 14,000 cubic miles, so how could it fit in a bathtub? But the cauldron is described as a seemingly endless pulling force by Nesta, so is it a black hole? (This was while I was trying to take a shower. REALLY BRAIN?!)
Or
………………………………………(continuous stream of nothing)

Anyone else?

Sophia (~*-*)~ (sophiada12) Sometimes I just think about the fact that I am smaller than the smallest star and remember how insignificant I am. But then I remember that I can think and dream and feel unlike the star, and remember everything that I have done and everything I can do.

Sophia (~*-*)~ (sophiada12) When I’m at school, I ask my friends who the most dangerous person they can see is. They say the principal, the PE teacher, and the math teacher. They’re wrong.

Beware of the person who’s nose is always in a book. They wear their masks better than the rest, they know how to hide in plain sight, and tend to have dirtier minds than the rest. They are broken, and whole, and healing at the same time. They have lived thousands of lives, lived in millions of worlds, and died many times.

We go by many names, bookworm, book lover, book reader, but we all prefer our books to the real world. Our books are an escape from our lives, a way to live as someone else. If we are separated from our books, we become lost, caged, even. And a caged animal is a dangerous animal. It will fight for freedom.

The world sees us as lonely, but we have more friends than you can imagine.

Sophia (~*-*)~ (sophiada12) :o
I never thought of that.

Actually, that's not true. Biologically, normal humans have 3 types of cones, and the likelihood that each cone absorbs a photon of a given wavelength depends on the type of cone and the wavelength (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:14...). Some humans have a defect in the genes coding for one or more of the cones, leading to a spectrum of colour-blindness. Normal humans, however, all see exactly the same 2-dimensional spread of colours. How does this work?

Each object (usually) emits photons of different wavelengths, and its colour depends on the distribution. Each of those photons that reaches the eye may be absorbed by the cornea or lens or jelly, and even if it reaches the retina it can be absorbed by at most one cone. So the brain needs to receive many 'snapshots' before it can obtain a statistical 'picture' of how much each type of cone is triggered on average near a certain point on the retina, which then allows us to perceive colour at that point.

There are 2 dimensions because we have 3 cone types and the colour depends on only the ratio of absorption likelihoods. No matter what is the wavelength distribution of photons from an object, over a short time interval the L (long), M (medium) and S (short) cones will get triggered a certain number of times each, and the ratio L:M:S determines the colour. Double all of them and the brightness doubles but the colour does not change. Change them slightly and the colour changes slightly. Normal humans all have exactly the same cones, which is why they do not differ in colour perception.

Colour-blindness does change colour perception, because one or more of the cones are defective. Another trait that changes colour perception is tetrachromacy, in which there are 4 types of cones instead of 3. Besides these, normal human brains also process the retinal inputs and attempts to 'white-balance', resulting in a phenomenon called colour constancy. You can read more about these on wikipedia.

Nahhhhh lol

I was cutting split ends in my hair (bc I'm stupid and I don't really take care of my hair properly even though I know I should T-T) and then all of the sudden, that part I was cutting was really short. And I kinda panicked and I ran to the bathroom and decided to cut it.
Nobody cares though, lol. I told my mom and she was like "Meh" and my dad hasn't even noticed. He basically just found out I had allergies which is why I'm talking weird le mayo
