Starting a nice summer read... Fire on the Island by Timothy Jay Smith, a gay romance/mystery set in the Greek Islands.
Just finished The Half Life of Valery K
, Natasha Pulley's latest with is coming out at the end of the month (July, 2022). Once again, she's delighting me with her prose style and plottingMy ***** review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Love that Greek classic Luís! The whole The Oedipus Cycle was astonishingly moving I thought.
Luís wrote: "I'm reading The 100-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared -- Meh..."That one I didn't love . . . it seemed to go on and on and on. Not enough depth for the humor to hit home, and the historical panoramic romp felt particularly shallow. It just wasn't for me.
Latasha wrote: "Parable of the Sower. Because relevant to today’s events 🥴"Looks like a good book Latasha!

So agree with you! Too much boring.
I just finished All the Young Men and want to start reading it again right away. So beautiful, heartbreaking, and beautifully written account of an angel in human form during the AIDS crisis.
Just finished voices in the dead house
, Norman Lock's novel that imagines the thoughts of both Walt Whitman and Louisa May Alcott as they worked as volunteers in Union hospitals during the Civil War. As is true of all of Lock's works I've read, this novel, while being carefully researched, pushes readers to see Whitman and Alcott in a light that doesn't consistently flatter. My **** review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Just finished reading The Awesome Autistic Guide for Trans Teens
I wish it were longer and more detailed, but it will provide some teens who need it a place from which to start. My **** review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I'm currently reading Neil Gaiman's Stardust. I'm excited I like a lot of his books and the intricate worlds he can create in so few pages! I hope everyone has a wonderful day of reading!

I’m currently reading Written in the Stars,The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue!, They Called Us Enemy, all of these books are very good:))
I really enjoyed Catriona McPherson's historical mystery In Place of Fear
set in post-WWII Edinburgh and beginning on the day the National Health Service launches. Along with a solid mystery, the book explores issues of class and gender during that time.My **** review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Sarah-Hope wrote: "I really enjoyed Catriona McPherson's historical mystery In Place of Fear

This book sounds absolutely wonderful:)) I read the first book in the same author’s private detective series still set in Edinburgh where the detective was doing undercover work disguised as a house maid and I really loved it but I forgot the book title!
Just Finished Our Wives Under the Sea
, a sort of a slow burn horror novel with a lesbian couple at its center. My *** review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
