Clovis TC 1. What are your thoughts on Coraline as a character? Do you see any parts of yourself in her?
2. What are your thoughts on Coraline's relationship with her real parents?
3. One of the big themes for this story is bravery. Coraline defines bravery as, "when you're scared but you still do it anyway." Thoughts?

Kirsty 1. She is an incredible character in teaching the lesson of being grateful for the life you have. Her energy is amazing and the way she was written by Neil Gaiman gives her this infectious whimsy about her. I 100% wanted to be just like her when I was little, her bravery was something I desperately wanted to have.

2. It's very realistic, at her age she is likely to rebel against them and not realize the reality of how busy and stressed her parents are as she still views the world in this childlike state of mind. I will say though, they were extremely neglectful at certain times but in the end, made it up to Coraline and put their work life aside for her.

3. I agree 100%! Having the courage to do something that is terribly frightening to you but deciding to give it a try anyway is the definition of bravery. It means that you care so much about a thing or person that you would be able to put aside any doubts or fears you had no matter how strong those feeling are
