Read Between the Wines Bookclub discussion

for those of you who didn't make it to the meeting, what did you think about our latests read?

I LOVED Love & Other Words & I completely adore Macy. She honestly might be one of my favorite female characters. I really really admire her & the way she navigated through everything with Elliot in the past & present. Love her. I started off really loving Elliot & was completely rooting for him & Macy to make it work. I feel like halfway through the book I started to feel less of a connection to his character & honestly after all that stuff with Emma I could not get back on board with him. But overall a great book!!

I really enjoyed this book!!! I LOVE ELLIOTT SO MUCH! We love a man that can talk about his feelings. It was really cheesy at some parts and since half the book is from a teenager’s perspective, it kind of read like a YA at times which I didn’t love but also there were some steamy parts that I did enjoy so that balanced out fine enough.

Okay I am also super convinced that Emma pretended to be Macy when Elliott was super drunk that night, right?!! That’s how she got him to hook up with her in my opinion, and why he remembers it being Macy instead. (Edit: I guess I might just be making excuses for Elliott because I loved him so much lmaooo but just a theory, this was really shitty of him to do)

Anyway, 4.25/5 stars!!! This is my favorite Christina Lauren book I’ve read so far. (Edit: I have also read Unhoneymooners and that Christmas one, I forget the name....telling...) Lol!

Ommmggg @danielle I totally don’t think Emma is solely to blame for the hook up! I totally think Elliot lied & knew what he was doing. The reason he would do that??: I don’t know. But he doesn’t convince me 🤨
