So! What should happen in the RP? Sci fi, slice of life, medieval, any ideas?
I don't know! Guess we should pick a time period at least :)
Fine with me! How old are these guys? I prefer late teen to young 20s but I can work with something else also.
Okay that age is great! Should they be in college or something?
QueenofHearts wrote: "Okay that age is great! Should they be in college or something?"yeah!
He probably got a scholarship to play in the colleges lacrosse team heheee
Okay! I guess for my character she can be in a veterinary technician program in college!
Can you post him here so we can see him here in this thread?
I will have my character up in a second
QueenofHearts wrote: "I will have my character up in a second"Im just confused on what you mean putting him up here?
I dont have a drawn ref of him if thats what you're wondering
I mean like what you showed me in the other thread. Post that pic link here as well. And his name.
This is what I do to make characters. Just a little "profile."
Yeah that's great! It just makes it a little more organized. Where should we start?
QueenofHearts wrote: "Yeah that's great! It just makes it a little more organized. Where should we start?"ooh I see-
and Im not too sure- where do you normally start with these things?
Meh just kind of wherever we want. Sort of like in a book. Where does the book start? Kind of thing if that makes sense.
QueenofHearts wrote: "Meh just kind of wherever we want. Sort of like in a book. Where does the book start? Kind of thing if that makes sense."well books sort of start by setting the scene of course-
and then the characters going about their everyday lives before the real meat of the plot starts brewing
Yeah! Sort of like that! So should they be meeting in college or should it be winter break? Or would you like me to sort of start us off and take the lead? So then you can follow and see how we do it on Goodreads? :)
QueenofHearts wrote: "Yeah! Sort of like that! So should they be meeting in college or should it be winter break? Or would you like me to sort of start us off and take the lead? No worries! I'll post something in a little bit. I'm sure you'll do great!

It was a bright, crisp fall afternoon. College had recently started up and today was one of the first weekends the students had off. Rosalind was working at the little coffee stand nearby, a favorite of the students. She hummed as she worked, filling a drink order for someone. "Here you are," she said cheerfully, sliding the cup of espresso over towards the customer. The customer thanked her and took the drink, heading over to a table.

The cool wind blew and the soft crunching of fallen leaves could be heard beneath Hugo's feet. As summer ended and welcomed the cool embrace of autumn the vigorous anticipation for the following semesters swelled with delight in the young man's chest. This being due to him being welcomed with open arms to the college of his dreams after winning a scholarship in the tournament that happened in May of that year.
All he had to do now was wait for a message from that school's coach to be recruited to play for that school's team. As of that moment he'd be absentmindedly looking through his phone- talking with family about getting new lacrosse equipment due to him earlier noticing how ragged his stick bag was, and how rough and battered his favorite stick was. He didn't want to throw them away- he'd prefer to still use them for practice. But as per suggested by his father- a professional baseball player himself- whom was well known throughout the community- pressed the idea of buying new equipment for his son. Saying that it's good to start off fresh with new gear in a new school in a new team. And such an idea brought a smile to his face- as he walked he kicked up leaves and sticks until the scent of a heavenly brew caught his attention. Though this would be until he nearly stumbles over his own feet on an abrupt tree root that broke the concrete path below. Though with a quick fumble of his phone and catching himself in time he'd perk up quickly and look to the stand.
Thinking quietly to himself-
'An afternoon coffee doesn't sound too bad'
Though sounding unheard of in his mind- he'd give a shrug and coerce himself into approaching the stand- rationalizing the thought of having a warm drink could warm him up in this chilly weather.
Rosalind was filling more orders and after a moment of rush from several students requesting this drink or that, she was faced with an empty counter once more. But it would only last for a short while. As she waited, her eyes scanned the surrounding campus. An athlete-looking man stumbled over a root, apparently hoping nobody would notice, but Rosalind had seen it. However, she grinned to herself and turned to straighten some of the cups waiting on the counter behind herself. She remembered when she had first been like that herself; stumbling head on into the college bookstore to pick up her online order of expensive textbooks for her veterinary technician program and searching the useless maps for the classrooms she needed to memorize quickly. And now she was here, having snatched up a part time job on the weekends to keep her busy and maybe make enough gas money for the next week. Sane was a different thing; there was no way all this classwork would allow her mind to stay sane. But she'd do her best.

His cheeks already a pigment of red after his stumble moments prior. His eyes traced the stand and everything it had to offer.
"I'm guessing this is a popular stop here right?"
Hugo chuckled as he looked to the students on the left to him as they chatted among one another. He'd smile at this and look back to the girl- he couldn't imagine running this small spot by himself. Don't get him wrong he knows how to make coffee- but anything that delves deeper into anything that isn't pouring creamer and some sugar into some hot coffee was beyond him. And this showed as he eyed the options above- for his confusion was reflected in a dumbfounded expression on his face.
"It is! Would you like to order something?" Rosalind asked, smiling brightly at this young man. He'd been the one to stumble awkwardly just a few minutes ago. She knew she shouldn't dwell on it but the longer she looked at him, the more she thought about that little moment. She glanced around behind herself for a minute, waiting to see of he had any idea of what he wanted to order. "The caramel macchiato is a popular one, or if you don't necessarily want coffee we have a green tea smoothie or little desserts and bakery items that are also great," she said, gesturing to the small, glass dome counter that offered a variety on shelves.
((Ackk sorry for being dead- I had work and I wasnt in the groove to rp yesterday I hope you understand!
QueenofHearts wrote: ""It is! Would you like to order something?" Rosalind asked, smiling brightly at this young man. He'd been the one to stumble awkwardly just a few minutes ago. She knew she shouldn't dwell on it but..."Everything seemed so foreign to him-
Cappucinos, Frappucinos, Shots, Expressos, Iced lattes- All he knew of was the regular morning brew- that and the different sizes.
With the interception of her voice- he'd be snapped out of his confused daze- and as she directed he eyed the small arrangement of small pastries on display. And he had to admit it did wet his appetite quite a bit.
Upon looking back to the menu and to the girl he'd give a slight smile to her-
"Ah well- there's so many choices. I don't normally go out and buy coffee so I apologize for being somewhat slow!"
He laughed softly- "Though- I guess I wouldn't mind trying something new-" He gave a shrug as he curious smile to her. "Do you have anything you'd recommend?" He brought his hand to his chin with a eager glint in his eye
((You're fine! I've also been busy!))
"You're not slow! Believe me," Rosalind chuckled, glancing up at the many options listed on the menu above her head, "there are quite a few so I don't blame you on not knowing what to choose!" Her eyes sparkled at him and she leaned on the counter, winking at him. "I recommend the cappuccino. I like to top up the foam and drizzle on some chocolate syrup. That's my favorite." She offered him a friendly smile and waited to see what he'd say. "And of course, I'll make you whatever sounds best to you here."
