SFF Readalongs led by Kitty G discussion

I plan to finish up this book today as I was gradually coasting my way through this book and not really knowing how it was going to be or if I would like it but it seems to be a slow burner and it seems like we've now hit the really exciting and intense bit.

I love the character of Winter and her storyline is by far more interesting than Marcus' for me. I do still really like Marcus, but I just feel like it's easier for me to connect to Winter and see her character and understand her choices and decisions.
I loved the reveal about Bobby as I just had NO idea that Bobby was a girl and that was a great twist to throw into the story because all this time I've been waiting for Winter's secret to be revealed and not even thought about the possibility of others who could be masquerading in the Army!
I love the relationship Bobby and Winter have been having and how they're great friends now because of not only the respect between them but also because of their shared past and secrets and I have to say that the backstory was really interesting and I was hoping we'd see that soon!
Feor is a really interesting character too and seeing her constantly trying to run away and get herself killed is so sad because she's a great friend to the other two and she deserves to live a happy life. The fact that her brother freed her I thought really sweet and maybe speaks more about the true nature of the Mother that she'd order a young girl killed because she saved another.

Marcus' story is interesting too of course and his constant battle with janus over what;s the best route to take or thing to do is quite amusing. I think his whole story with Adrecht was interesting and I think it's great that he questions the orders he's given rather than blindly accepting everything.
I do think the Thousand Names is a very cool and interesting thing. I wonder exactly 'what' it is and hope that that gets revealed soon. I think it'll be a pretty game-changing thing for a whole army to have to attack in order to get it, and no one but Janus and Marcus know about it.

One other thing I thought interesting were the lesbian themes between Jane and Winter as this is not something we've seen a whole lot of in books before and I enjoyed getting subtle hints about her preferences rather than outright saying it.

I'm not sure how I feel about Jen and Marcus as I don't know if I truly trust Jen yet and have a lot of suspicions about her.

Also, who is this wizard person who's somewhere with them all and that Feor keeps sensing??
