One Point Tasks

1.1 LABOR DAY
Take a break from your labor and read a good book.

1.2 JURY RIGHTS DAY (9/5)
Read a book that has a court scene (give a little description).

1.3 SEPTEMBER BIRTHDAYS
This month Roald Dahl & H.G. Wells celebrated their birthdays.
Read a book whose author's first name begins with either R,H,O,G,,A,L,D and their last name begins with either D,A,W,E,H,L,S

1.4 NATIONAL CHEESEBURGER DAY (9/18)
Read a book whose MC has initials (first and last name) that are in CHEESEBURGER.

1.5 MC FISH MARKET: TUNA
The "Special" of the month is TUNA
Choose one of the following:

a. I love Tuna Sandwiches
*Read a book where someone is eating a sandwich in the text. (give loc. and sentence).

b. Swimming in Schools
Even though Tuna are very large fish they are known to swim in large groups.
*Read a book set in a school (give name of school).

c. La Tuna
La Tuna is Cafe & Beer Joint located in the area of the city called South Town and my favorite dish there are the Fried Mushrooms.
*Read a book with mushrooms on the cover (show cover) -OR- the word ROOM in the title.

1.6 READING THROUGH THE ALPHABET: LETTER Y
Read a book that starts with the Letter Y (exclude A, An, The)
BONUS POINT: Read another book that starts with Y.

1.7 (Amber's Task) Family Birthday Month
For me this is a big birthday month, more than any other month.
My niece turns 16 September 2, my mom turns, I better not say LOL, September 22 and my dad turns 65 September 27.

*Read a book with a celebration (tell us what kind of celebration) or with any of the ages or dates in the page number (1,6,2,2,2,6,5,2,7) e.g. 272, 127, 526, 622 etc....

1.8 FLYING SOUTH
It's time for the Birds & Butterflies to head down south for the winter. Whooping cranes and Spoonbills heading to Texas, Monarchs & Strout-nose butterflies heading towards Mexico.
* Read a book with the MPG: SOUTHERN or SOUTHERN LIT -OR- Bird(s) or Butterfl(y)ies on the cover.

1.9 (Reading Jar Winner 1: Mickslibrarian) DO YOU KNOW YOUR BOOK BACKWARD AND FORWARD?

Read a book with a title that begins AND ends with the same letter.
Title can be any length, but you MUST include the article (a, an, the) and any subtitles as appears in the Goodreads listing.

Ex.: The Tell-Tale Start, Murder in the Manuscript Room, Alexander Hamilton: The Making of America.

BONUS POINT: If any WORD in the title also begins and ends with the same letter. (Ex.: Sick of Shadows - word must be at least 3 letters long).

BONUS POINT: If the author's first, last, or full name begins and ends with the same letter - name must also be at least 3 letters.

Ex.: Anna Quindlen, Deepi Ahluwalia, or Georgia Bragg

1.10 (Reading Jar Winner 2: Amber) HIATUS IS OVER
I play handbells at my church and we always take the summer off. We are back to practicing and will be playing our first piece of the year at the end of September in celebration of our church's 150 year anniversary.

Roadtrip through the US
This month's States: IOWA, WEST VIRGINIA, FLORIDA, ARIZONA, ALASKA

~ pick 2 States
~ Read a book that is set in each State that you picked.
~ The majority of the book must be set in your chosen State.

2.3 (The Adventures Task) EUROPEAN HERITAGE DAYS
Read 2 books

On 17th and 18th September, a lot of museums are free, and some monuments generally not accessible to the public can be visited ;)

1. Read a book with a European monument on the cover
2. Read a book that takes place in a European country

2.4 (Linda C Task) CRUISING TO QUEBEC IN SEPTEMBER
Read 2 Books

We are taking our first post-Covid cruise; going from Boston to Quebec and back. So let's feature Canada for these tasks.

1. Read a book set in Canada - tell us where
BONUS POINT: if it is set in one of the provinces we are visiting along the way (New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Quebec)
2. Read a book with all the letters in CANADA in the title (NOT including subtitles) - 3 As, 1C, 1D, and 1N

Three Point Task

3.1 (The Adventures Task) LET'S READ FOREIGN AUTHORS!
Read 3 books by foreign authors.
Each book must be written by an author from a different country.
For example, you can read a book by a German author, another by a British author, and the last one by a Chinese author. American authors are not to be included. Have fun!

Five Point Tasks

5.1 YEAR 2022: SEPTEMBER
Read 5 Books

1-3. Spell-out: S-E-P
• use 1st letter of the title (exclude A, An, or The)
• use Author's initials (FIRST/LAST)

4. September is the 9th month of the year.
Read a book with 9 in the page count -OR- 9th in a series (name series).
5. Read a book published in September (any year - list year).

5.2 SEEK & FIND
Read 5 Books

Read a book for every word listed below: In Title (no sub-titles)
