Kimberly Zeidler | 22 comments Happy September! 🤍 I officially reached my goal of #22booksin2022 and Emily, YES #23booksin2023 will most definitely be a thing!

Last month I read The Love Hypothesis in 2 days — that was really good with a touch of spice! 🌶 I also read November 9 (oh CoHo 🫶🏼) which was also very good! I’m currently reading The Roughest Draft — it’s taking me a while to get in to and I don’t know if it’s because I’m reading it after two books that I loved or if it’s really just a meh book. We shall see! Needless to say, my next book needs to be good — any recs? Can’t wait to hear what you are all currently reading! 😘

Jordan Sosanya | 19 comments Hi everyone!

I read some really great ones last month!
- A Flicker in the Dark - mystery/thriller, really good and highly recommend. It definitely had some twists!
- Wish You We’re Here - I liked this a lot. Great story line and twist. I am really starting to love Jodi Picoult’s books and have my eyes on a few more.
- Know My Name - wow everyone needs to read this. About the sexual assault /rape victim from Stanford who was victimized by Brock Turner.

Currently reading The Perfect Couple by Elin Hilderbrand. Another one of her books I can’t put down.

Planning on reading The Summer Place next since it came off of hold on the Libby app.

Can’t wait to hear what everyone is reading!

Chelsea N | 11 comments More time at the beach meant more reading time for me last month! 🙃

1. Good girls guide to murder - it was fine, I guessed the ending pretty early on and the writer actually left clues and never came back to said clues so I was frustrated by the end hahaha but it’s a quick and easy mystery if someone wants that
2. Golden girl - 5/5, I loved this book so much
3. It happened one summer - cute romance book, finished it quick
4. November 9 - wasn’t expecting much from this one due to mixed reviews but it turned into one of my favorite colleen books!
5. Heart bones - it was ok, I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone going through a colleen binge, I think it could’ve been way better and less messy
6. Daisy Jones and the Six - I didn’t think the interview style writing would keep me interested but I flew through this, really good read that was a little different
7. Wrong place, wrong time - interesting idea, book was WAY too long though. I was dying to know what happens so kept reading but man it took a while to get anywhere
8. A not so meet cute - spicy quick romance!! I read it in one night 😅 loved the story line of this one, cheesey and predictable but loved it

Reading the follow up to “a not so meet cute” and it’s just ok ahahah and started the Silent Patient! Trying to do a little less romance going into the back of the year since I’ve been rolling through those 😂

Only 2 books to go until I hit my goal! Woo!

Taylor | 8 comments Jordan - I absolutely loved Wish you were here and it was the not a twist I was expecting! I did a deep dive into the ending and am still fascinated (Don't want to put too much in here to avoid spoilers)

Kimbo and Chelsea- I agree with Nov 9th, one of my favorite CoHo books! Also agree with Heart Bones, not one of my faves. Have you read Hopeless yet? That's my absolute favorite CoHo book.

Agree with all of the above, Silent Patient was soooo good!

Here's what I've been reading the past month:
-Book Lovers- Super cute and had me lol'ing several times. I like this one better than Beach Read, but not as much as People We Meet on Vacation.
-The Reunion- It was on Kindle Unlimited and recommended. Just ok, cute idea but too many characters to keep straight and a little too long.
-Unwanted Guest- I decided to dive back into mystery/thriller and I always love Shari Lapena. I guessed the ending pretty quickly but still good. 4 stars.
-Josh and Hazel's Guide to not Dating- It was ok, not my favorite Christina Lauren book but super easy read.
-Half Life- WOW, put this on your list. Bit of dual timeline/time travel/what if. Follows Marie Curie's actual life AND if she never went to France and met Pierre. One of my favorite books this year.
-Funny You Should Ask- Easy read. Dual timelines 10 years apart. Based on a Chris Evans GQ article (which was also a great quick read to read after I finished)
-One Italian Summer- Just finished it tonight and had to come to good reads to praise it. Absolutely incredible. Cried multiple times but was heartwarming, romantic, nostalgic, and made me want to book a trip back to Italy ASAP. Magical realism (my favorite genre) at it's finest. I liked it more than my other favorite Rebecca Serle book (In 5 years)

Next up is Tell Me Lies. It's been on my bookshelf for years, and I want to read it before I watch the show. Anyone seen the show and/or read the book?

Jordan Sosanya | 19 comments @Taylor we need to discuss Wish You Were Here and the ending. Nuts. Also, let me know how Tell Me Lies is because I have it on my to read list and put a hold on it at the library but it’s like a <24 week wait. I also am tempted to start the show… wondering if I should hold off??

message 7: by Emily (new)

Emily | 18 comments y’all I just finished Tell Me Lies and I gave it a 1 outta 5, but I think it’s cause it hit too close to home (horrific exs am i right? No? Just me lol)

I still stand by my assessment, neither character was likeable and I know I’m probably supposed feel bad for them but I could not.

I understand how it could be a decent show though…for anyone else that reads it, can’t wait to hear what you think!

Taylor | 8 comments Emily, I complete agree with Tell Me Lies.

The characters were not developed enough and I didn't care for either one. I felt like each chapter was the same as the last, and the book was entirely too long.

I will probably watch the show though because I'm a glutton for punishment. I think the drama would make for a better TV show that book too. I'll let you know how it goes.
