Lauren | 1452 comments Hi,
I'm looking for hr books with supernatual characters. I'm not looking for books that take place in a fantasy world like Graceling. I'm looking for characters that can talk to animals, see the future, or heal a person like:
Captured Heart by Heather McCollum or Warrior's Lady by Gerri Russell.

I want the supernatual part to be subtle not be the whole story. Does that makes sense?

Her are so more examples: Bewitching and Wonderful by Jill Barnett, Sensing Danger by Wendy Vella , or Scandal Becomes Her by Shirlee Busbee where the h dreams of the murders.

I'd appreciate any recommendations! Thanks

Lauren | 1452 comments I thought i'd add: The Witch and the Warrior by Karyn Monk
And
For Love of Gwynneth by Gerri Bowen - this has a little too much fantasy than what I'm looking for but it's still good.

Jan (jan130) | 2730 comments Mine Till Midnight by Lisa Kleypas has some supernatural elements, although I'm guessing you've probably already read that one.
Mine Till Midnight (The Hathaways, #1) by Lisa Kleypas

The Widow of Rose House by Diana Biller has a ghost.
The Widow of Rose House by Diana Biller

Green Darkness by Anya Seton has some supernatural elements - a reincarnation type love story. It's an older book and probably older in writing style (I read it quite a while ago so can't remember it that well).

Merry (jewelhound) | 867 comments A Dreadful Splendor by B.R. Myers
The Curse of Morton Abbey by Clarissa Harwood
I thought I would toss these out there. I think the romance is secondary in the books.

Lauren | 1452 comments Thanks Merry and Jan! I'll check these books out.

Merry (jewelhound) | 867 comments Lauren have you read The Ghost and Mrs. Muir by R.A. Dick

Oleander | 274 comments Most of my HR/PNR has the paranormal as a big part of the story, like vampires and werewolves, but I can definitely recommend some good ones if you are interested.

Lauren | 1452 comments @Oleander, Werewolves and vampires are too supernatural for me. I want books where the h can heal or sees visions but nobody else does. Similar to Captured Heart by Heather McCollum for example. That said... if you want to list your top 5 picks I won't object ;)

Lauren | 1452 comments @Merry, The Ghost And Mrs.Muir looks interesting. I'll admit it being written in 1945 has peaked my interest considerably. Thanks for the recommendation !

Oleander | 274 comments Yeah, I know you wanted more of a shaman type or lighter touch, that's why I didn't go all out in my first reply. My recs are more intense, but if you want them.....

An excellent HR ghost story is Gwen's Christmas Ghost by Lynn Kerstan also known as Gwen's Ghost by Alicia Rasley . Same book.

You might like Amanda Quick's Arcane Society series which is about psychics. I've only read first one and need to get back to it. Second Sight (Arcane Society, #1) by Amanda Quick
More ghost stories in my tbr: A Willing Spirit A Ghostly Romance by Cynthia Sterling Ghosts of Tsavo (Society for Paranormals, #1) by Vered Ehsani

My top paranormal HR:

Wild Wulfs of London trilogy beginning with The Dark One (Wild Wulfs of London, #1) by Ronda Thompson

Night Fires (Vampire #1) by Karen Harbaugh Dark Enchantment (Vampire #2) by Karen Harbaugh This is interesting because it is a female vampire in historical setting.

Drakon series beginning with The Smoke Thief (Drakon, #1) by Shana Abe Darkest London beginning with Firelight (Darkest London, #1) by Kristen Callihan
