Basically we will both start reading on the start date. Then as we read if we find something interesting or have question we will post them here. Some people discuss by chapter others only when they find something interesting. I'm usually done these kinds of books pretty fast so I only tend to post when I find something interesting as well as once I finish I give my overall thoughts in a spoiler comment. But its completely up to you how much you mant to contribute to the discussion.
So I started it. Not sure how I feel about how quickly Razor just accepted them and told them the plan? Oh you're gonna join great, were now going to kill the elector :) ...like what?!
I started it. I'm at the part where Day and June first split up to start the plan. For some reason, I'm feeling sympathy towards Anden. He's reminding me of like Sebastian from The Mortal Instruments.
I've only read the first book in the immortal instruments and it's been awhile. I do eventually plan to read the rest though. I'm just hoping that the author doesn't try to do a romantic point with Tess and Day. Like I'd understand it since they've been together for like ever but I'd honestly rather there wasn't a love triangle.
Same. Obviously she's into him but I hope not. It's just weird. She's like 3years younger than him but I don't know. I'm kind of looking forward to a somewhat romantic relationship with the elector. I feel like it'll be scandalous and make the story interesting.
I have to say my heart raced the entire time when Day was being looked at by the commander. such an intense moment!
Omg Yes! I feel like something bad is about to Kaede since she's actually tellimg Day about Tess' life and the patriots and the colonies. She's really interesting. Right now I'm kind of hoping just for a moment where we get to see Day and Tess' relationship blossom into something a little more. I feel like Day should be conflicted about his feelings, since he so easily said he loved june to june.
Do you trust Anden or Razor? I seriously like Anden. I don't trust Razor, I think he wants to kill the elector for more pwer somehow, he wants a higher rank. I dont know
I still hate Thomas, no amount of relationship explanation between him and Metias is gonna change that. in fact it makes me dislike him more. and I still don't like the idea of a love triangle. Yes Day fell for June fast but if you look at where everything is heading June is a more useful partner to him. She cares for him and can help him in pretty much anything he does. While Tess granted she knows him longer so she can help with the emotional stuff but those tricks can be learned in any relationship given time. Tess isn't a fighter, idk I just feel like she would hold Day back because he'd always feel he had to protect her. Where as June is his equal even if they did come from different backgrounds which they both need to get over. and I don't trust Razor for a second. Still on the tense about Anden.
I feel like Day right now is in the process of discovering himself right now, that's why Day has 2 main love interests right now. Also, with Pascao he tends to be blushing a lot, so that's why I said he's trying to find himself. Over the years, he hasn't been in a relationship with anyone so now, I dont know.
Oh I get it, but Tess is also younger then him like 13 maybe 14 I forget the exact age difference but regardless of their relationship... it's just she's still a child no matter how much you want to dress it up. and the way Day thinks about June makes me quite irritated with him. if he cared about her so much and actually realized what she sacrificed as he says he does then he'd stop judging her. He keeps acting like she's turning her nose down on everything when it's really him being judgemental and criticizing everything. He's the one looking down on others not her. Sure somethings are an adjustment for her and their bound to be but she's never been disgusted with people of lower class like Day makes her out to be.
I'm reading the eBook on my tablet so page #'s are a bit off. I'm about 42% complete. Day just told Tess that he would save her because he knew June could take care of herself
I'm at the part where day and the patriots are watching footage, of June. I think I'm a little behind. I'll catch up.
but you'd think since he cared so much about June he would have said he'd pick her. I mean this is the girl he's suppose to be in love with. but I get why he said Tess. Romantic feelings aside he cares for her and yes regardless of her irritation by it I do believe he does see her as someone who would need saving because we all know June probably wouldn't need it. I don't see why she has to get so offended over it when its the truth. She's just ugh I liked Tess so much in Legend but now she's just irritating with all her tantrums which I'm sure are only going to get worse D: Why couldn't they just keep them a pseudo brother and sister, they worked so well like that.
Hahaha. I agree, but I actually agree with Tess about this part; Does Day actually know why loves June? I feel like he's attracted to her but he feels guilty about her giving up everything for him and I feel like he calls that love. Aside from her giving up everything, they are just attracted to each other. I feel like Day pity's himself, too much.
I agree in that I don't think he truly loves June. infatuation maybe but not love. you don't look down on someone as much as he does with June if you truly love them. I'm quite irritated with his behavior as well. He's becoming like the melodramatic everything in my life sucks, I'm a horrible person kinda character you see in most YA except they are usually female and some of them are actually still likeable. I really hope he gets better as time goes on because his self pity is going to get old really fast..
hahaha, yeah. That's why I don't like reading in his POV now. I'm surprised June can actually manipulate a lie detector test as she just did
Well she was trained. It's actually not hard to do so. its all about your baseline or whether or not you truly believe what you are saying.
He's idk I don't want him with June but then again idk if I want her with Day either... I don't want him dead that's for sure. And Day makes the colonies out to be this fantastical place but what does he know? He's never been there and I highly doubt there's much information available in the Republic that's says what they are truly like. Considering they've been at war with the Republic for so long I doubt that their situation is much better. maybe not ruled so much by a tyrant but not a paradise by any means.
I agree, I think Champion will take place in the colonies, it would make sense. I want Day to actually do something, he's made out to be like a freaking mega criminal, but he hasn't actually done anything, that idk would prove him worthy of that title. He just kinda goes with the flow
I agree all of this so called criminal stuff mostly happened before the story even started and even then most of it was just him stealing things, selling them and blowing up the places he stole from. I don't think he's a mastermind. For someone who apparently got a perfect score on his trials he hasn't overly proved how intelligent he is. He's only a mega criminal because he was skilled at hiding. that's it.
at this present moment no I don't like him. I am hopeful he gets better but will not be too surprised if he doesn't. I also like June and Kaede though sometimes June comes off a little robotic but that could just be her upbringing
Well I knew he was dirty. And I'm sorry I didn't feel sad at all by the news. He could have chosen to handle it differently too. Day has disappointed me in this book. I'm just hoping Champion can redeem what Prodigy destroyed for me. It's been a fun experience. We should definitely do another buddy read together sometime :)
Yeah. The ending action scenes were pretty good. Kaede's death was urghhhh. I rated 3 stars, because I liked when Kaede was flying, that part was awesome. I don't think I'll be reading champion to the end of this month.
