This thread is where you can chat about all things PIFM, ask questions and once books have been read, review your selected reads. A complete free for all.

PLEASE NOTE:

PIFM is meant to be FUN and not to be taken seriously. I would appreciate it if all participants just chilled and not get worked up about voting, who votes, who doesn't, etc. Please bear in mind that some will just want to vote, many don't come on everyday and most of us have time constraints. I just want a relaxed approach to it all and for you all to just enjoy the process! I'd really appreciate your courtesy in this matter. Many thanks.

Patricia Bergman (marshop) | 1229 comments Happy Holidays to all of you. Still trying to decorate. I wanted to string some lights on my front porch Pillars then this incredible rain storm arrived. I believe I will change my mind for now.

Sophie | 1126 comments Happy holidays to you all!

Agnieszka, how interesting that you say Frohe Weihnachten in German, I was always taught "Frohliche Weihnachten". Do you know what the difference is? Is there one?

Dana, that's so cool that you're learning German. I studied German all throughout school and took part in exchanges and a work programme when I was 18 and I loved it. I know it's a bit of a journey for you but if you can ever get over to Germany around November/December, the Christmas markets are incredible :)

fröhlich can be used as adverb or adjectiv froh is always an adjectiv - though mainly it's mostly a regional difference or personal preference.

Kirsten (kmcripn) I used to work with someone whose last name was Froehlich -- does that mean his last name is Happy?

message 15: by Dana (new)

Dana (dkmckelvey) | 623 comments Sophie - it is very self-taught using the Duolingo app, but still enjoyable! That is very cool you did that - I would love to visit some day. Actually Europe in general, I have never been!

And happy holidays everyone, I still need to get a tree this year. Better late than never :)

It's more merry or cheery than happy. Happy would be Gluecklich.
