I love the epigraph to this chapter. Time and time again, we have been reminded about the strength of the Malazan army and their unquestionable loyalty to High Fist Dujek. And the more we read on, the more we cannot fail to agree wholeheartedly.Well.. as much as I empathize with the Mhybe, I am beginning to despise the way she is carrying on with her self-pity. How dare she to talk to Whiskeyjack like that?
And speaking of Whiskeyjack, can anyone deny or question why his soldiers are so loyal to him? And why oh why do I have this foreboding that something bad is going to happen to Whiskeyjack in this book?
I agree that the Mhybe and how it's becoming a little grating to constantly hear her woes. She kind of signed up for all this when she birthed and protected Silver Fox and whilst I am sure she didn't know the full extent of it all, she certainly knows now and just needs to accept it.
As for Whiskeyjack. He's a really great character and I really like seeing him back in the story more :)

I also find Mhybe annoying. What I hate worst of all is how in her dreams everything is awesome but them she makes a 180 degree turn when she wakes up clinging to her self pity.I am starting to enjoy Kallor, though I am not rooting for him at all. He is the insane character like Hairlock in GotM or the High Priest from DG that I love reading. They add a little bit of zaniness to a very serious story, reminiscent of Heath Ledger's portrayal of Joker in one of the Batman movies.
