you all can post a intro too if you choose, here's mine:Hi all 👋🏽
💊💉📚🔖🍭🍦🍨📖👩👧☕🥔🍟🥖💰🍔🧀(view spoiler)
let me know any name suggestions for our family or would you rather keep the current one??
Hey guys I’m Jess! I like our team name. I love romance/ dark romance/ monster romance is my new thing.
Hi everyone!I love our family name as it is - I'm a Jane Austen fan.
Thank you PrinzessBookDragon for your willingness to be head of the family!
I've done it in my previous challenge and am aware you'll have a lot on your plate for the next seven weeks :-D
______
Hi guys, I'm Agnieszka! I was born in Poland, spent most of my life in Germany and started reading English about ten years ago when the publisher announced they won't continue translating my favorite series at that time and realising in that process books in English are available for free or on sale (legally impossible in Germany) so by now I read more than 90 percent in English, as much as I can in Polish (is my family has something interesting) and the reminder in German (depending on what's available in my local/online library).
My favorite genre is romantic suspense and anything that combines at least two of the following: mystery/thriller, humor, romance, unique plots, well crafted Christian elements, indies.
I'm tired typos and plot holes very strongly.
I love languages and anything to do with numbers and maths. Can live without meat but not without cheese (despite highly developed lactose intollerance) and carrots :-D

BTW what's AF and monster romance?

glad you liked my intro ;) I'm also a cheese lover!
bookish AF: (*as fuck*)
monster romance is an updated possibly offensive to some, dirty spin on fantasy sci fi romance- that's the only way i can describe it
PrinzessBookDragon wrote: "...bookish AF: (*as fuck*)monster romance is an updated possibly offensive to some, dirty spin on fantasy sci fi romance- that's the only way i can describe it"
Thanks. It explains why all the possibilities I found online didn't match the context of the AF I've seen in a novel - this one fits perfectly :-D
I still don't get the monster part of the monster romance - is it romance
a) where one of the MCs is an actual monter (creature) like the shifter in a shifter romance or alien in the alien romances or
b) more like a 'sub-genre' of the dark romance with a 'human monster' (mafioso, assassin, psychopath ...; perhaps even captivity elements) or
c) kind of like a modern take on the Beauty and the Beast with a disfigured/disabled/awfully looking MC?
Week 1's survey has been posted in the Survey Says thread. Have fun deciding which answer might score the highest points.
Family members can read for the same answer.

Yay cool!Ok family, which do you think would have the most points?? do we want to settle on 2-3 maybe as a group and read for those prompts??
ideas??
🦄🦄 Survey #1
Name a kind of hat.
Baseball - read a book with an author's name that has double letters (Sally, Emmett, Briggs, Woolf)
Beret - read a book with a 5 word title (includes articles)
Cowboy/Stetson - read a book where the main character rides a horse
Derby - read a book within 24 hours (the Kentucky Derby is fast!)
Easter Bonnet - read a book set during the springtime
Fedora - read a book by a male author
Panama - read a book with the word "canal" in the text of the book
Straw - read a book where the mc spends a lot of time outdoors
Top - read the first book of a series
🌟We CANNOT start reading until Monday--10.24🌟
I'm so bad at this guessing the highest points game (usually my picks were in most cases those with the lower # of points) and hope you're better at it.Here I'd tip it's either Derby (if you go for a full lengths novel, that's not an easy task) or Panama (even using the search in book option, it's not that easy to find) but what do I know :-D
I can immagine both options we go for the 2-3 task we think will reach the most points, or spreading it in case we are wrong.
I checked the books I want read/start next week if they fit a task (first group of books) and then done the same with books I'd like to read this year. I left page numbers (in brakets) and added the task(s) it fit(s). I found books for all of them :-D
Baseball Damaged Shadows by Kathleen Brooks (298)
Cowboy/Stetson; Straw; Easter Bonnet The Fairest Beauty book 3 in Fairy Tale Romance Collection by Melanie Dickerson (321)
Fedora Preisgeld=Back Spin by Harlan Coben (378?)
Fedora; Panama; Top Lost in Fuseta: Ein Portugal-Krimi (subtitle: A Portugal Mystery) by Gil Ribeiro (396) Lost in Fuseta #1
Cowboy/Stetson; Derby; Easter Bonnet; Straw? Flash Flood by DiAnn Mills (170)
Beret; Fedora; Straw W pustyni i w puszczy=In Desert and Wilderness by Henryk Sienkiewicz (320) *w = in; pustynia = desert; i = and; puszcza = jungle, wilderness is possible though if I remember the story correctly (read it in school about 30 years ago) the primary meaning is the better option*
Top A Case of Blackmail in Belgravia by Clara Benson (263) (Freddy Pilkington-Soames Adventures #1)
Derby; Straw? Prey by Lisa Phillips book 5 in Pursued (175)
Fedora; Top The Yada Yada Prayer Group by Neta Jackson (416) (The Yada Yada Prayer Group #1)
Cowboy/Stetson; Fedora; Panama; Straw; Derby? Brazil, An Adventure: On the threshold of the 19th century by Cornelio Ridel (189)
BTW: I really hate the new GR book pages: no ASIN/ISBN to copy&paste, no easy way to change editions and no more showing my notes (use it a lot for challenge purposes and similar stuff)

hi all 👋🏽in reference to your completion posts: i noticed in some of the other family threads some people have reserved 3-4 spots in a row in the thread to post their completion posts.
check them out to see what i mean: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/group...
SO you can either do that OR update 1 post every time after each completion on Sundays.
THEN when i go to add your details to msg 4 at the end of the week, it's easy for me to find.
PS: with family feud the most popular survey answers have the highest points
I'm based in Germany which means I'm ahead of PST 9 hours for another week, afterwards only 8 hours. Right now we have Central European Summer Time (CEST), from Sunday, 30th Central European Time (CET).Prinzess, are we going the route where all of us try to read a book for the task we think will have the most points or rather spread over as many task as possible?
If I've not missed something it looks like there was not much reaction to your question regarding this point. For me both are fine. I'd just like to know if I should stick to my original plan or not :-D

thanks for your time zone, i am familiar with the European time zone. i used to live in England when i was in High School.... 📖📚
Somehow I overlooked the 'most popular' part of the survey description. Which means my answer is now Baseball or Top hat as the easiest tasks, sorry!
Prinzess, would you prefer I post the scores in one message (I could move the content from my first message to the second one and use it for that) or rather at the end of each week in a new message, or both :-D?
PrinzessBookDragon wrote: "🔖oops, didn't mean to disregard the most important part of your first msg. 💞..."No worries, happens to all of us.
Jess: cool, thx!Agnieszka: I don't want anybody to feel like I'm forcing them to do a prompt they don't want to do. So, we'll see what kind of points we get-- 🎉🎊
