Poetry cuts to the core of any topic. And this book, by award winning poet Amber Rose Crowtree, feels like it has distilled moments of time to their essence while examining the basis of life in an almost cellular level. Here is an excerpt from her poem, "A Celebration of Despair": "It is not the journey alone or the ozone / of spontaneous loss that has you here / releasing a scream from your throat." Published by Finishing Line Press in 2021, this book is well worth reading and reading again.
