I started this book today. I'm kind of disappointed in it so far. I don't really like the two main characters and even find them a bit "one note" and boring. I hope the story picks up.
I am going to be a little controversial here. I think that now we have read Jackie Collins, anything that is in her wheelhouse is going to suffer by comparison. We know too much. (I haven't started this book yet though. We'll see.)

Yes, we need to stop comparing other trash books with hers - because nothing will ever be as good.
That said, I did get about 30% into The Love Machine ( what a title! ). The story does improve. After page 80, the pace picks up considerably. Robin "the love machine" Stone is a self-centered bastard and Amanda, at first, is his doormat. But now Amanda is getting tired of his crap, so it's getting good.
The further you read, the trashier this book gets. I'm a little afraid of what we'll find out about Robin's past.
I accidentally downloaded the sample for this book on Kindle, which abruptly ends after chapter 6. I was like: well this book makes no sense! And it's super short.
