What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

My aunt is looking for a book she read in third grade in the 1950s about a girl who jumped rope 100 times and then collapsed. It may have been a dare or bet.

Bumping this - any ideas? I'd like to be able to help my aunt.

My grandma owns a ton of books from the 1920s - 1960s. Next time I go there I'll take a look through her collection!

Does your aunt remember anything else about the girl?

Assuming she was a typical elementary school age American girl. Did she live in a big city, a suburb, or out in the country? Did she have brothers or sisters?

Does your aunt recall any other details at all? Even the smallest clues can help. Other names, other incidents from the story, etc.
