A historical murder mystery.
The horse is in a livery stable and we see that horses are very much part of the economy and lifestyle.

I'm told by M.J. Evans that this book about horses in WW2, featuring the U.S. Coast Guard's mounted beach patrol, has won an award. Well done, and all the more reason to gift a horsey book or read it for a challenge. I had not even heard of the mounted patrol, and it shows horses were relevant in many ways. Thanks for the information!

Cluasa Capaill ar an Rí
This is an interesting Irish fairytale told in the Irish language. As you can see, the King was born with a pair of horse's ears.

M.J. Evans tells us about
"a wonderful Historical Fiction book titled: "PINTO! Based Upon the True Story of the Longest Horseback Ride in History." Our group members would have fun reading it for their history challenge as it is set in the US from 1912 to 1915. It is the winner of a dozen literary awards."

"If you're looking for a Christmassy read, I have brilliant book recommendations for you.
"Cressida Burton's Snowed in at Ravensbay is a short story filled with gorgeous ponies, snowy countryside, jingling bells and high drama.
Tudor Robins' Gift Horse is another feel-good, seasonal short read that'll have you feeling festive in no time."
Thanks for that, and Amanda has one of her own which looks completely Christmassy to me.

If you don't see the latest active challenge click the link Challenges.
You will be asked which shelf the books to read are on. If you say horse and you do not have a horse bookshelf, Goodreads will put one in to your personal list of shelves.
When you complete a read you have placed on that shelf Goodreads sees the progress.
Now the challenge registers that you have read some of the books.
You might decide to name it challenge shelf so it would be used for challenges in any other Group too.
Tell us your titles in this thread.
Authors are allowed to mention their own suitable books, as they could read their own books for this challenge.
This season we are reading historical or Christmas (or other winter tradition) books.
