The first few pages describe how much Coraline has explored her new home. The way the author describes is impressive. He doesn’t write “the golden, a word my reader will definitely not understand, round sun woke from its sleep” but instead describes through situations the reader might’ve had and also direct speech with other characters. I also got reminded that it’s Coraline, not Caroline.

Concise and precise. The two qualities I look for in books. Books that have these two will unmistakably be quick to read and enjoyable with good plots.
This book was amazing! The descriptions weren’t long and boring but they also didn’t make you feel like the author wanted to get rid of them. The plot was fast-paced, which I really appreciate because I haven’t read a book in ages (I don’t know what ages means to you but for me it is a few weeks) and a slow-paced book would’ve put me off from reading more. The author did a great job of putting me in Coraline’s shoes. The black cat was the perfect touch to the overall plot. It was heart-warming reading the parts when those two characters interacted. I give it a 5/5. 👏👏
