I don't think that classifies as something broken. The feather is morphing into something different.
For task 3, pregnant character or newborn: The Last Chairlift--clearly for much of the book, the son is an adult, but it appears that the pregnancy and how it came about are central to the story, what do you think?
Need book help for the task:Read a book about the persecution of witches.
I have already read The Heretic's Daughter.
Thanks.

Have you read Hour of the Witch? I loved it.
The one I really liked was The Mercies. Did you try searching for witches in Listopia. Here are a couple, Best of the Salem Witch Trials (specifc to Salem), and Witch Hunts in Historical Fiction. You might find something of interest in those lists.
Janice would The Witch's Heart work for persecusion of witches? Angrboda is burned at the beginning as a punishment from Odin. If that one works I may reread that one because it is one of my favorite books
Janice wrote: "The one I really liked was The Mercies. Did you try searching for witches in Listopia. I could try either
or
(provided it is approved). I got misled by the MPG:LGBT and did not connect it to persecution of witches.
Katrisa wrote: "Janice would The Witch's Heart work for persecusion of witches? Angrboda is burned at the beginning as a punishment from Odin. If that one works I may reread that one because it is ..."No. It's more focussed on mythology with her relationship with Loki
Viji wrote: "Janice wrote: "The one I really liked was The Mercies. Did you try searching for witches in Listopia. Here are a couple, Best of the Salem Witch Trials (specifc to Salem), and Witch..."The Mercies will work by The Witch's Heart won't.
3. Two words, total 14 letters: Time off work for new momsRead a book that has a pregnant a character or a new born baby in it
I'm considering Call the Midwife: A True Story of the East End in the 1950s I'm assuming there will be plenty of new born babies, but only for a mention and none of them belong to the MC. Is that still okay?
Janice wrote: "Viji wrote: "Janice wrote: "The one I really liked was The Mercies. Did you try searching for witches in Listopia. Here are a couple, Best of the Salem Witch Trials (specifc to Sale..."Thanks, Janice. I will read The Mercies.

Yes, there are lots of new born babes in that series. I really enjoyed it.
I just finished The Great Witch of Brittany and it will fit the persecution of witches task. I wished I had realized it or I may have held off a bit. I gave it 5 stars. It also talks about the discrimination against the gypsies as well.

I have
and Janice suggestion
made me to hunt for this in my collection. Has anyone read this? Would this work for the task:
Read a book about the persecution of witches?
Thanks.
While stacking the books selected for 2022 Challenge, I came across
which has been in my TBR for a long time. The synopsis mentions "there has never been a more dangerous time to practise the craft, for it is 1554, and the sentence for any woman branded a witch is hanging, or burning at the stake."I think this book also qualifies for the task:
Read a book about the persecution of witches
If allowed, I could read this and eliminate one overdue number from my TBR.
Thanks.
I also just remembered a book I read this year that would work for persecution of witches called The Highland Witch. I gave it 5 stars when I read it

Task:5. Read a book with something broken in pieces on the cover
Would any of these books work for the task?
1.
2.
Thanks.
Just being paranoid, but rereading this task: Read a book with a female title in the title (dame, Lady, Duchess), i start wondering. Do you want dame, Lady or Duchess in the title or any other title, for example Countess or Princess will work?
To clarify Esther's question further - Would more common titles such as Mrs. work or are speaking more of titles of position above that.
Others will work as long as they are established titles for a woman. I missed the "etc" in my examples.
Janice, I think our posts crossed. Just want to make sure it's clear whether you were including that in your "others" or not.
Why not? Mrs is a title too, and people would likely argue that it's a title of position. We'll go with Miss, Mistress, etc. But let's not do Mother as in Mother Earth.

Okay, that's a religious designation. I was thinking no to the use of Mother as a certain past vice president does with his wife.

Task: Read a book with a female title in the title (dame, Lady, Duchess)Would
His Dark Lady work for this? Should the title be followed by a name? Thanks.
Jane Reads wrote: "Janice, does the Snowman on this cover count for something broken in pieces?
"Sure.
would The Ruin of All Witches: Life and Death in the New World work for persecution of witches
and
for broken object
