My poem Desert Scene has been published in Misfit Magazine. They've published me several times before. This poem's about something that happened over 50 years ago, but it still haunts me.

That is haunting, I can see why you still feel it. It made my pulse race for a second.

My kids were 9 and 14 and it haunts them, too.

I can imagine that.
I experienced something similar forty years ago when I was in the army. But with a burning car. Since then I don't like BBQ.
