On The Same Page discussion

So either I'm super ambitious or super crazy. Either way my bookcase is literally crashing under the weight of the five million books I have. Oh, and I know there are books under the Christmas tree for me. So we have to make a dent. My first list was just BOTM books, and if i can get those off I'm making some progress. This second list is non-BOTM books weighing my bookcase down. The more I get off my shelves the more books I can buy. Hehe! So here we go!

Ioana, just changed the wording. Thanks for the heads up. My husband would never do that, its just a figure of speech from his frustration with my ever growing book pile. (I know you know that). But to be safe so there isn't any confusion i changed the wording.... Seriously, thanks for the lookout on that. I'm not on social media so I don't think to catch how things like that can be misunderstood, even when they are in a joking manner.

And even though he gets annoyed with books taking over every empty space in our house, I know he's wrapped at least 3 books for me under the Christmas tree. 🥰 (Yes, I still act like a kid and check presents under the tree.)

Good luck with your list, Lindsey! The only one I've read is Rock, Paper Scissors. I'm hoping to read Book Lovers and It Starts with Us this year, we'll definitely have to compare notes.

Thanks Jennifer! I really want to watch the show/movie Nine Perfect Strangers, but not until I've read the book first. I normally like her writing so I have high hopes.

Just keep making 12+4 lists and you can knock out those books. Lol!🤣

One of my goals for 2023 is to FINALLY get bookshelves for one of the upstairs rooms. In June, we will have lived in this house for 20 years. That's a long time to still have books in boxes!!!

I have made lots of 12+4 lists for this year, but I am only going to list one. IF I finish it, then I will add another list.

My hubby gave up long ago. Poor thing.

...and yes, there is a great support group, but I think it's full of enablers....

One of my projects for 2023 is to donate books that I know I will never read (or read again). When I told my husband that I was going to buy IKEA bookcases to cover a wall, he wanted to know what I was going to do with the leftover 50 boxes of books after I filled the bookcase. I wish I could have protested, but he is probably right in his assessment.

I've read 8 or 9 of these - all good ones :) Happy reading!!

That's really not a bad idea. I have some books thst have been on my bookshelf for a long timr, and honestly don't know if I'll ever get to them. Maybe i can box those up and move thrm to the basement....

Alissa, a lot of the books are from the early 70s forward. Let me know if you are searching for a particular book as I have a good memory!
