Book Nerd (book_nerd_1) | 94 comments In 2023 I'm going to reread the Dark Tower series including all the comics. I haven't read a lot of the comics yet and I'm wondering about reading order.
I know there's the first series that's a prequel then there is a series for The Gunslinger and one for The Drawing of the Three. It seems like there are comics that follow parts of The Gunslinger and The Drawing of the Three and then there are a couple that go beyond the books.

Also I haven't read the rewritten Gunslinger. Would people recommend reading that or the original?

I have the boxed sets of the original and the prequel with all the extras. The comics were Robin Furth's babies and I definitely think it's worth reading them all. If you can lay your hands on the extras, read those too.

With the boxed sets it's more of a saga with annotations. Wonderful reading! You just have to get past Je Lee's depiction of Susan as a disco queen. His illustrations are otherwise on point!
