Dexter was leaning against the lockers, his breathing heavy as he closed his eyes. He suddenly slid down to the floor and let tears run down his face. He had started to have an anxiety attack again, this being the 4th time today. But today was the reason why. Today was the day his father had been arrested for murder. Finally, Dexter pulled his knees to his chest and buried his face in them, beginning to sob quietly.
Nathan was headed to his locker to grab his textbook when he saw some blubbering boy sitting against it. He groaned, sure that he would somehow have to deal with the situation before he could have his book. "You're in my way," Nathan said gruffly, hoping that could be the end of it. He wasn't in the mood to deal with crying boys. Or crying anyone, for that matter.
"Go away..." He said as he raised his head, though didn't make eye contact with Nathan. He coughed, sniffling as he shook. He looked fragile, considering he was really thin and he had dark circles under his eyes.
Nathan's hands clenched into fists as he looked down at the boy. "No. I won't go away, asshole." He was starting to wonder what was going on. Random crying was supposed to be one of the warning signs for mutants. If this kid was a mutant, Nathan told himself he wouldn't hesitate to end his miserable existence, no matter how thin or small he looked. "That's my locker you're blocking, and I have to get my books from it. Now, move."
"I don't care! Leave me alone!" He yelled, putting his head in his hands. Today was just not his day. "I don't want anyone around...please...just leave me alone..." He murmured, his voice pleading with the other boy.
"Get the eff away from my locker, and I will," Nathan growled. "I need to get my effing math textbook and you're in the way. It would literally take you one second to move!" He raised his hand like he was planning on hitting the boy, although he wasn't sure that he was going to. All he knew was that he wanted the kid to move, and he wasn't.
"I-I can't..." He said quietly, his body shaking. "I-I can't move..." Dexter was honestly terrified, and when he saw Nathan raise his hand, he hid his face in his knees and tightly closed his eyes. He wrapped his arms around himself and started to breathe heavily, and he could feel his heart racing.
Nathan could feel himself getting even angrier at the boy the longer he waited. "Fine, then I'll move you," he said, reaching out and roughly trying to push the boy to the side. He dug in a foot and pushed as hard as he could, not caring if he hurt anyone so long as he could get into his locker.
Dexter gasped at the pain that erupted in his side, and suddenly, Dexter grabbed Nathan by the foot and he glared up at him. "Don't touch me," he growled, pushing him back and standing up, "If you do, next time I'll hurt you."
"Oh yeah? What are you gonna do about it, mutant?" Something about the threat--perhaps the confidence behind it--had clued Nathan in. He was all but certain that the boy was a mutant, and all he had to do was bait him into using his powers. That'd show him. "Stupid mutant boy, crying to himself about all his mutant sorrows. What's the matter? Did you accidentally kill your sister or something?"
((If you don't want this to escalate too much, I could have Olivia step in and kinda calm Nathan down :) Haha, or not. Your choice ;) ))

"Don't call me that!" He yelled, and he hung his head, "You don't understand true pain until you lose both the people you love..." Dexter clenched his teeth and looked at Nathan with teary eyes, "I'm only crying because today was the day my own father killed my mother!" He fell to his knees, and he put his hands to his face as he sobbed, "You would't UNDERSTAND!"((Sure, that's fine with me ^^))
Nathan chuckled when the boy all but admitted to being a mutant. "Oh, boo hoo hoo. Poor kid, losing your parents." He shoved out with his right hand, trying to provoke him even more. "Is your father a mutant too, then? Should we send him to the retraining camps?" All of his emotions about his own mother were coming out, making it easier to bully the boy.
Meanwhile, Olivia was practically skipping down the hall, humming a happy tune to herself. She stopped when she saw the scene before her and sighed. Of course something just had to come along to ruin her day. She jogged over to the sad-looking boy, ignoring the way her bag bounced as she did. "Hey, um, are you okay? And you..." She turned to glare at Nathan. "What are you doing? Look, you're making him cry!"

Dexter shook his head, "SHUT UP!" he yelled, and suddenly the lights sparked and exploded, and the lights went out. He gasped and opened his eyes when he realized what happened, his eyes widening as he looked at Olivia then at Nathan. "Why?" He said in a shaky voice, looking at Nathan, "Why would you make me do that?! You're just like everyone else! Hating mutants just because one of them tried to take over the country! But what about the rest of them?! The ones that now have to suffer, and the children who are raised and treated as monsters and freaks because they're different!"
Nathan jumped at the sound of the lights breaking, grinning as their section of the hallway dimmed. "Mutant!" he yelled. "Someone get Mckinney! We've got a mutant here! Help, mutant!" He looked at the boy with utter hatred, not willing to attack him by himself.
"No!" Olivia screamed. She could practically see the boy make a decision to use his powers, but she was too late to stop him. As he destroyed the lights, Olivia knew what she had to do. Her safety lied in the fact that everyone knew she was one of the most anti-mutant students at the school. So she shoved the boy away and took off down the hall, running to grab Mckinney like Nathan had asked.

Dexter's eyes widened and he shakily stood up, stumbling a bit as he felt like he would pass out. He hadn't used his powers in so long, it made his body weak just using them now. As his vision blurred, he leaned against a locker and slid down to the floor, feeling tears begin to run down his face again. He was such an idiot, letting his anger get the best of him.
((That's not quite a one-liner, but really close... Could you add a little more of his thoughts and feelings, and put it in past tense? Olivia just went to grab him, so he would probably know there was a mutant he was looking for))
((Oh this was the mutant? Oh okay, so much better. I didn't know what to say to introduce him to the setting.))
((It's fine. Sorry I had some HW but I can manage to do it a rp too))
Mr. McKinney walks into the first hall. The clicks of his shoes were loud to his ears. He fought the desire to use his powers like he learned to do for years. What's the point of having speed for you power if you can't use it? He shook his head, he needed to focus on this mutant others are noticing. He felt like it was his duty to find out the truth before the rumors start to spread like wildfire.

((No problem :) ))
Olivia pointed to the boy who'd broken the lights. "There. He's the one. The mutant I was telling you about!" She looked at Nathan and sighed. She didn't want to lie, but she'd thought of a way to bring everything together. "That's Nathan," she whispered to Mr. Mckinney, "I told you he was a mutant."
Meanwhile, Nathan was standing nearly still. He cocked his head at Olivia, confused about why she was saying the other boy was him. "No... I'm Nathan. Remember? We have a class together." His eyes narrowed and he looked back to the boy. "I'm definitely not a mutant. It's this asshole that broke the lights."

Dexter looked up at Olivia and Mr. McKinney, shaking his head, "I...I didn't mean it...I didn't mean to break the lights..." He murmured, his eyes struggling to stay open as he slowly tried to get to his feet. His body was shaking, so it was difficult for him to stand.
Mr. McKinney's face harden after watching the students. "Thank you for your help, Olivia. Boys, my classroom now." He said coldly. I was clear that one was a mutant yet, Mr. McKinney felt all of them was mutants; including Olivia. His thoughts were racing in his head, he'll have to put them aside until he have more time to watch. Mr. McKinney walked past the boys, knowing they'll follow and walked into his classroom.
((Should I make a folder named Mr. McKinney's classroom?))
