Smooth, easy, read. As a fan of Nero Wolfe, I appreciate this modern take on the traditional hard-boiled detective. Looking forward to continuing this series.

A. Level 1, Book 3B. Category: Early 20th Century
C. The Black Mountain by Rex Stout.

I cannot seem to move past this category! A familiar favorite and an easy read for lazy summer Sunday. 4 stars.
A. Level 1, Book 4B. Category: Early 20th Century
C.
Death and the Conjuror by Tom Mead.D. Date Completed: 08/05/23
3 Stars. This one did not really hold my interest. And there was a bit of a disconnect because it is set in 1936 but the descriptions of the characters and settings felt more 1880s... even with the cars.
A. Level 1, Book 5B. Category: Gilded Age America
C.
What the Dead Leave Behind by Rosemary Simpson
D. Date Completed: 10/28/2023
4 Stars. So so good. Will definitely continue this series!
A. Level 1, Book 6B. Category: Victorian England
C.
by Luanne G. SmithD. Date Completed: 11/27/2023
3.5 Stars. A bit different for this category. This is the story of 2 sisters who are witches in 1880s London and team up with a detective to solve a series of murders. This was the last of my spooky, mystical reads from October. I enjoyed it enough to continue on with the series.
A. Level 1, Book 7B. Category: Regency England
C.
D. Date Completed: 12/31/23
3 stars. Still one of my favorite series.
