Dear Goodreads librarians,

"Unpacking for Greece" will be published in April 2023. I don't have the final page count (or the cover blurbs) yet, but I would love to add it to library now, if I may?

Details are:

* Title: Unpacking for Greece
(Packing for Greece series, #1)

* Author(s) name(s): Sally Jane Smith

* ISBN (or ASIN): ISBN for paperback 978-0-6456257-0-7 ; ISBN for e-book 978-0-6456257-1-4

* Publisher: Journeys in Pages

* Publication date: April 2023

* Format: Paperback and e-book

* Page count: (not yet finalised)

* Description: (I am hoping to have an opportunity to edit this closer to publication date)
When Sally set out for Europe with her mother’s 1978 diary in her pocket, she was searching for the wanderlust she’d lost in a devastating solo travel accident. As she explored the Greek mainland and islands, she found it was possible for an out-of-shape, middle-aged woman on a budget to experience a life-changing journey.

The temporary placeholder cover is shown below. Some tweaks to colour are expected, as well as the addition of cover blurbs, so it is important that I am able to replace the cover once it is finalised.

Sally Smith | 7 comments I think this request has slipped through the cracks. However, I do now have final details including page count, blurbs, final cover, etc. I will therefore create a new request.
Thank you for your assistance.

Sally Smith | 7 comments Hi Martina,
Thank you so much for this tip - is there a help or instructions article that will tell me how to do this? If I can get hold of a how-to page I can do it myself and remove my recent request (https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...) from your queue. I know the Librarians have a massive amount of work to do, and I definitely don't want to add to it unnecessarily.
Thanks,
Sally

Martina (martina_s_hlavou_v_knihach) | 12464 comments Hi Sally, maybe this link can help you: https://help.goodreads.com/s/article/...

If you search for a book on Goodreads and it doesn't exist, the link to add a new book appears.

Also, on the author's profile page, below the list of all their books, you can find the link:
* Note: these are all the books on Goodreads for this author. To add more, click here.

Sally Smith | 7 comments Thank you Martina. I'll get into this on my next day off. The book will be go on pre-sale in May, but I would like to get the listing up now to build some excitement.

Thank you again, I really appreciate your advice.

Sally Smith | 7 comments Hi again Martina,
Just a note to say I gave it a quick go before work (I'm in Australia) and it was so easy! Thank you so much, you saved me a lot of waiting. I had seen that article before, but had missed the little link to add a new book, so hadn't known where to start until you pointed me in the right direction.
Much appreciation from downunder!
Sally

Martina (martina_s_hlavou_v_knihach) | 12464 comments Hi Sally, thank you for the update, I'm glad everything worked out for you :-)

I'm sorry I haven't added the book myself, but to be honest with you, I think it's always better (and easier) if the authors know how to add their own books themselves. Like you've mentioned before, the amount of requests we're getting is massive and some people (authors included) might wait for months until we finally get to their requests which can be really frustrating (understandable), so it's always a little bit sad to see authors try to get their books to the database by making a request, when they could easily add them themselves and avoid all the hassle.

I hope it'll be easier for you to add your books in the future :-)

Best of luck,
M.

Sally Smith | 7 comments Thank you - and I agree!

I've just been posting in three active author communities about how helpful you were and how easy it is once you know the link is there. Hopefully that might save one or two of the thousands of requests you receive.

Okay, time to head out to the paying gig ;-) Hope you know how much we appreciate the Goodreads Librarians!
