I gave myself a little break last year because I was feeling overwhelmed. I made a personal goal of reading everything I bought in '22 and managed to keep to it (I know, right? I'm very proud of myself). This year I want to whittle down my Kindle TBR. I've maxxed my borrows on both my Kindle Unlimited and my Prime reading so my main goal is to get through those 20 and then decide if I want to keep those subscriptions. Anything beyond that is icing on the cake.

1.
Girls of Might and Magic: Diverse Books with Magic Anthology Like with most anthologies this was a mixed bag- some really good, some pretty bad, one head scratcher, and a couple of okays. The really good ones pointed me at some new authors so it was definitely worth the read.358 pages *** Kindle
I'm also trying to pare down my KU list. Some of these I've had borrowed for a couple years!! I have started one of them though! And it counts for my series to finish challenge as well.
2.
Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents So good, but, man! It was such emotionally fraught subject matter that I kept having to put it down and take a break, so it wound up taking me two years to finish.14 hrs 26 mins ***** Audio
3.
The Fall of Carthage: The Punic Wars 265-146BC Well written and narrated, but I had to push myself through.16 hrs 26 mins *** Audio
14.
The Drunken Botanist: The Plants That Create the World's Great Drinks I tried so hard to like this, but I just didn't. I kinda wish I had decided to give it up while I could have gotten the credit refunded.10 hrs 16 mins ** Audio

Oh that stinks! It sounds like it would be so fun to learn about!

Crimson Yuletide I picked this up to fit a challenge prompt so long ago that I don't remember what the prompt was or what challenge it was for, LOL! It wasn't very good, but at least it was free (and it wasn't terrible, either).**
