Please join us for a group read of The Secret of Red Gate Farm (Nancy Drew Mystery #6). We would love to hear everyone's thoughts and opinions of the book!

Taffeta | 7 comments (My copy is from 1961…”This new story for today’s readers is based on the original of the same title.”)

We start with the xenophobia right on page one, first sentence. They left out the word “inscrutable”, however.

Taffeta | 7 comments Page 3…. Nancy’s blue eyes sparkle…

Oh dear… Bess seems to have caused a girl to swoon by spilling strong perfume in a train car… (p. 5)

Hello, Taffeta! Welcome to the group. I can't wait to read more of your thoughts on Nancy.

Taffeta | 7 comments Thank you, D.L.!

I am a little more than halfway though…I feel that Nancy has been the main transgressor so far…no matter how dingy and drab an office may be, is it ever appropriate to make copies of encrypted messages?

Taffeta | 7 comments Oops! Potential love triangle? (p. 130)

Kirsten (kmcripn) Just finished another satisfying case. Love the criminals, you expect them to say "I would've gotten away with it too if it weren't for those meddling kids!"

Sometimes I read these schemes and I am surprised that it's set in the 1930s.

Vicky | 125 comments I agree that the criminals would say that. They always seem to scowl at the “meddling kids” as they are being taken away by the police.
