75 Books...More or Less! discussion

I've slightly decreased my Goodreads goal this year, from 150 to 135. The last couple of years I've come close but ended up having to decrease it in December; I'd rather end up increasing my goal than decreasing it!

In 2022 I read 135 books.

Are you still shooting for 135? My goal for this year was 100 and I'm about to his 60. I'm crazy enough to wonder if I could pull of 2 books per day for the last 3 weeks of the year....hahah

I loved it too! I should probably get on the holds list for the sequel. I'm sure it's enormous lol.

Realistically I might end up changing it. The last couple years I think I was aiming for 150 and had to change to 135 so I thought that was a reasonable goal! But 29 more books in the next 22 days is unlikely. Especially since I still have some longer books on the go that I'm hoping to finish.

105. The Taking of Jake Livingston by Ryan Douglass (public library, audiobook)

I picked this one because it's narrated by Kevin R. Free, the voice of Kevin on Welcome to Night Vale. He was (of course) a good narrator but the book was a 3 star for me.

Hey look I actually finished a series!!

I'm crazy and I don't want to change my goal of 100 so I'm going for it and trying to find a couple of short books to mix in with the longer ones. My commute being 15-20 minutes less each way and being so busy at work really decreased my reading this year. I think I need to drop my goal to 75 for next year.

The end! I had to lower my goal again. My total is still higher than most years (I've just been aiming high lately), yet I feel like I had a lot of reading slumps. I think I can point to a few causes, but I'll need to do some thinking about how I can make sure reading stays fun!

The adventure continues in 2024.

It's definitely more important to enjoy reading than some arbitrary number. Good luck!
