After Jack brings him back to life, Evan lashes out in anger at him for lying. He leaves and returns to Baltimore and the place he lived when Jack found him as a young boy. What was the significance of his returning and what insight did he learn?

Evan had to revisit what Jack did for him. It is difficult to look back at what could have been, even if his current life isn't everything he wanted.

Evan had also to return to the scenes of how awful his childhood was in order to appreciate Jack on a deeper level, I think.

I understood his anger at Jack. He was the first adult that he really trusted. He thought of him as a father. Evan returns to Baltimore to save the 'boy' from the phone - that's when Evan realizes that the boy was him.
