I am very excited to read Snow Country by Yasanari Kawabata mostly because of this video HAHA my favorite booktuber recommended it https://youtu.be/qk8p1BQFr6Q?t=325 Also because the blurb speaks to me.

Now reading: Before the Coffee Gets Cold: Tales from the Cafe by Toshikazu Kawaguchi

I loved how heartwarming the first one was, so I’m hoping this and the third one will make me feel the same way.

Edith Victoria | 3 comments I finished Men Without Women by Haruki Murakami a few days ago! This is a short story collection so it was nice to be able to parcel out my reading; each story was around 30-40 pages long.

There are 7 stories in the collection, and my ranking of them from most to least enjoyment is almost the consecutive order they appear in. That's because the stories start out in realistic settings at first, and then they become progressively more surreal as is the Murakami trademark, which I don't like as much.

Stories in this book:
1. Drive My Car
2. Yesterday
3. An Independent Organ
4. Scheherazade
5. Kino
6. Samsa in Love
7. Men Without Women

Drive My Car was turned into a 2021 Oscar nominated movie. They probably took the premise and expanded on it for the screenplay.
