Cheryl (cherylllr) First up, for March, I'm going to create a poll with some of the titles that this group read back in the old days. Because most of us are new members now.... And because there are several that I missed that I really want to discuss with you-all.

Look for that poll in the next day or so.

And, for April, start thinking about which books you have been wanting to read. It's ok if it's already on the bookshelf, so long as we haven't read it within the past 4 years. I'll be posting a nomination thread within a week or so.

Cheryl (cherylllr) In March we will be reading one of these books:

The Time Machine
Doomsday Book
Replay
Timeline
In the Garden of Iden

message 3: by Dean (new)

Dean 10 Years since I read and loved Replay, and have been meaning to re-read it for a while, so that will get my vote.

The only one I haven't read is The Time Machine. I LOVED both Doomsday Book and Replay so I'd be happy to re-read either of them.

Cheryl (cherylllr) Great! I have created the poll already.

message 7: by Deborah (new)

Deborah | 36 comments I'm not voting because I don't reread and I've already read all of the choices.

message 8: by Pat of Rocks (new)

Pat of Rocks | 70 comments Lot of good choices! Garden of Iden is the only one I'm leery of because it has so many sequels I'd be compelled to also read next!

I'm not sure if we have the group numbers to support this, but maybe having two concurrent books (1 reread / 1 new) would offer more variety. Hasn't happened to me yet during my short time with the group, but 2 months is a long time to sit on the sidelines if you don't want to read what the group chose.

Cheryl (cherylllr) Good idea, Pat of Rocks. Thanks for advising me how to help in a situation like Deborah's. Give me a night to sleep on it and think if I can make it happen by March.

message 10: by Deborah (new)

Deborah | 36 comments No need to change things for me, was just letting you know I am interested in the group, just not voting this time. I still may have comments because I have read whatever gets chosen, I'll definitely read the comments.

I have read a lot of time travel books. Just odd that this time, I've read all of the choices.

message 11: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl (cherylllr) Yeah, after I slept on it I realized that many of us have read many of the books already... and there's nothing to be done about that. Thanks for clarifying!

And Pat of Rocks, thanks again for your idea; I'll consider adding something like it in the future if I ever do themed months or anything.

Cheryl (cherylllr) Poll is up for a few more days. Not many voters, so yours could still make a difference!

Cheryl (cherylllr) Replay by Ken Grimwood won the poll! I'm reviving the original thread for discussion here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/.... Join us in March, in just three weeks!

If you don't want to see spoilers, you might want to read the first post and then skip ahead to post 114. Or even skip the first post until you've started reading, if you're truly spoiler averse.
