Growth is a theme for many of the characters in In the Time of Our History. Do you think people can truly change? Or do people just get better at hiding who they really are...what's your opinion? -Admin KM

Lisa Cobb Sabatini (lisacobblestone) | 3 comments I think that thoughtful people grow. When one reflects upon life and lessons learned, growth is the natural outcome. However, those individuals who refuse to consider other people's ideas and feelings, who insist that they are always right, do not grow.

Leeanne Wheeler | 4 comments I definitely think people can change. The people in the book, Shireen and Sali for instance. Shireen lived with abuse, and felt she couldn’t do anything about it. When she went to visit Mitra, she saw what her life could be! She wasn’t afraid! She welcomed the change, and she changed! She was happy! Sali was disowned by her family at such a young age. She had to figure out how to raise a baby on her own in a new country ALONE!
I loved this book!!

I love your take on this! I do agree - people can change if THEY want to, it takes work but it's totally possible.

So happy you enjoyed the book! It was such a powerful read, great way to start off 2023! - Admin KM

You're so right, Lisa. It takes reflection and introspection to actually grow and nobody can do that for someone else! - Admin KM
