Somewhere between 2005 and 2015 I was reading it and somehow lost and have never been able to find it since. The cover had like a cartoon drawing of a castle or mansion on it with lightning all around it. It was a horror themed choose-your-own-adventure style book. I know one of the choices led you to fall into a bottomless pit and other sets of choices brought to the ballroom where some kind of party was being thrown. There might be giant spiders or skeletons in it but I don't remember since it's been so long. I just remember it being about a haunted mansion or castle in the middle of the woods, drawing you out of your home with a strange buzzing sound, but one of your very first choices in the book can be to just ignore the noise and that's another possible ending

Maybe Castle of Darkness? The cover looks about right, even if the description doesn't mention an odd noise.
